It is with great sadness that I have to inform all our members and friends that Tony Harvey suffered a massive heart attack during play at the Democrats v Vikings B match last night. I have this morning visited his family and was told that Tony is in intensive care and unconscious. His heart stopped for 4 minutes & 7 minutes during the night thankfully the hospital staff gave him the shock treatment and Tony is now on a cooler machine to keep his temperature down. Tony did cough a couple of times which is a good sign.
That's all I know at the moment and will update you when I hear more news.
Pete :(

On behalf of the Vikings B team, myself, Sean, Dave & Mick, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at the Democrats who played a part in what was a very traumatic, unexpected and emotional experience, particularly to Richard Garrett who initiated CPR to Tony.
I too am in touch with the family and together with you Pete, we will keep everyone informed.
Nicki & the Vikings B team

Oh no - poor old Tony. Please wish him all the best for the next few days - all his friends in the Witney league will all be thinking of him and hoping for a quick recovery. He'll be back at the table before you know it...

Just to update you all, Sean spoke with Ben (Tony's son-in-law) earlier.
Tony's condition is pretty much the same.
Ben would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes but the family have requested people not to phone the hospital direct for information as they are unable to give information over the phone unless it is to close family members.
At the moment Tony is in intensive care and visiting is restricted to family only.
We will of course keep you all informed of any change.
Thanks Nicki

Sean has just received a phone call from Tony's son-in-law. Sadly the doctors have told Tony's family that he is not going to make it and his life support machines are going to be turned off. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts during this and traumatic time. Our thoughts go out to Tony's family Nicki

One of the nicest players that ive played with or against. Always looked forward to playing on Tuesday nights knowing that Tony would be there and would bring a new joke or story to tell us all and brought a good atmosphere to the match and made everyone laugh.
He will be missed.

I have been asked to pass the following message to you all from the Harvey family.
Tony's life support machines were switched off on Saturday by the doctors, despite this Tony managed to continue to breathe on his own.
Sadly Tony passed away this morning.
Lorraine has again asked me to thank everyone from bar billiards for their support and kind wishes.
I will let you know of funeral arrangements when they have been made.
