Gardeners B 4 Atlas 1
Tony Jenner 3,800 - 3,730* Mick Pope Chances for both in this match, Tony managed to get the break back a couple of minutes from the end to catch Mick and win the game by sinking the last ball in the 100 hole first time. 1-0 :D
Bill Kerr 10,120 - 1,150* Brian Muggeridge Brian managed to push the one up behind at around 900, Bill got the break back straight away and knocked in breaks of 4.5k, 3.5k and 2k to take the win. 2-0 8-)
Rick Cunningham 6,910 - 1,330* Edge Butler Ricky managed a couple of breaks to put him in the lead and then added another 3k+ to finish off. 3-0 ;)
Dave Ingram 10,750 - 2,670* Alan Messer Alan left the one up short at just under 2k, I replied with just under 9k and added a few more after. 4-0 8-)
Dave Anscombe 820 - 2,400* Matt Adatepe Dave unfortunately lost enough to win this game with a bizarre one up then ended up with the red ball knocking the black peg down.... :o ..... Matt played a steady game to take a consolation leg. 4-1 ;)
Plenty of friendly banter between the two teams in an enjoyable evening..... 8-)

Horse & Groom 2 Duke of Wellington 3
That is not you eyes playing tricks and nor is it a mistake in typing.
Terry C 7200 Regg3y 2880. I started with around 2k and had the lead for about ten minutes. Then Terry got the break back and I had a little sit down. Stu 4600 Nick 4680. A real nip and tuck game. The bar went with Nick needing to score 500 on top of what he had scored and all the balls bar one in the tray. The last ball down the 200 did it. Mick 2000 Mark 3550. Mick had no luck at all in this game and Mark ended up with a comfortable lead at the finish. Terry R 4000 Garry 1680. This was another game that was on a knife edge all the way through. Garry lead by about 1k for most of the game and both players lost more points than they kept. Terry's skill and experience saw him get a winning break at the end. Doug 0 Tim 5970. Another game that was closer than the scores show. In fact it could have gone either way until Doug managed one of my fav shots (cue ball straight trough the black peg).
What can I say about the rest of it. The pub itself was OK, the table had no great mysteries to it (I even played a 50/100 split), the beer was OK and a good range of sandwiches at the end. Add all that to a team that clearly enjoy the night out and it was a good night at The Doom and Gloom.
P.S. Molloy on holiday. I amnot saying that helped for a cheerful evening. If you are thinking it thats down to you.

Romans 0 - 5 Blue Lagoon
D.Nicholls 2030 - 2820 P.Hickman* R.Pettiford* B/P - 2320 L.Hickman M.Knight 1560 - 3210 C.Oakley* D.Roberts* 1650 - 2570 B.Goodwin P.Aylmore 930 - 2160 D.Driscoll*
Great start for the Blue Machine! Dave and Pete battled out the first game with Pete just having enough in the end to start and early lead. 1-0 Ross let me on early and I lead early only to take on Ross' left 1 up shot - the risky 500point split shot which didn't go as clean as expected and rung round the 200 to take the BP on its 3rd lap! Nevertheless I managed to claw my way back with a few minutes to go to make it 2-0. Chris started off comfortably with a nice opening break and from there on himself and Matt were pretty even but the initial score proved vital 3-0 With the win in the bag, the pressure was lifted, but that didn't stop Ben having a nice win over Dave to claim the 4th. After returning from quite a few games absence, Danny came back strong to beat Pete in the 5th and claim the whitewash, even though we all wound him up and said he doesn't want to be the one who loses the only game of the night! It seemed to work though!
Great games and the usual banter we've come to expect of the Romans team, with an abundance of Chicken and Mushroom Risotto + Garlic bread that we barely got 1/4 through!

No scores ,card with Tupps but i can say we were totally outplayed last night.Dave Reeves top scored with exactly 10k and with solid scores from the rest of their team we were never really close to winning anything.Well played West Hill.
