Blue Lagoon 4 Albion 1 :'( Scores for the above: D.Driscoll 4330 - 1700 K.Stoner C.Oakley 3870 - 2960 K.Hall L.Hickman 3060 - 3420 A.Brackenridge P.Hickman 1800 - 1440 B.Stoner B.Goodwin 2100 - 530 S.Race First off, congrats to Danny who has had his little boy last week. Called it Riley, 9lbs something! Due to the new arrival, this meant Danny had to play first to get back to the mrs and set the bar high for the rest of us. A lovely 2650 break in the middle of the game seperated himself from Kev who had little table time to get anything back. 1-0 Chris was keen to make it a 2-0 lead but Kev had other plans. Quite an even game with no real high breaks but both managing over 1k breaks each to keep it going but Chris had the last few minutes on the table to clean up and take the win. 2-0 I was up next against Alan, again a close game with no real breaks after Alan set off with 1.5k or so, and I ended up clearing the table and chasing the last ball every visit. I was a good few hundred behind when the bar went, but selected my shots correctly including a string of 100's to leave the red ball up needing a 100 shot not a 200 shot, but then I missed the 100 shot and Alan sunk it to claim the win. 2-1 Pete against Bella in the fourth, poor luck both ways and neither really got on the break and ended up being a tactical game down the end of the table ending on 1.5k each. Fortunately for us, Pete got the best of Bella after Kev Stoner misinformed Bella of how much she needed to win by, resulting in Bella attempting a 200 shot rather than just playing the table out on the break. 3-1 With the win in the bag, the pressure was lifted from Ben, nevertheless he battled it out with Sandra and they were within a few hundred of eachother right up until Sandra clipped the BP on the way through to a shot behind the 10. Sandra only had time to get back 530 so 4-1. Great night as usual, a lot of loud noise from the Parrot meowing and lots of people watching the footie matches added some 'character' shall we say.

Romans 2-3 Montreal
T.Hunt 1240 - 2620 DJ - game spent mostly at the top of the table, with DJ doing enough for the win
R.Pettiford B/P - 1710 M.Barsby - Ross had a real struggle, although he did make a nice clearance when all the balls were on the table, only to lose all points when pegging. Mick just kept adding a few each time, but Ross still had a chance to win if he got the 200 but it just clipped the top of the pocket and knocked the black peg down
D.Nicholls 2650 - 2150 M.Scott - Moppy found it tough on the table, but hung in to give Sleepy a tough game, but was this the start of the comeback??
I think Gary was getting worried now as a 2-0 lead had been cut and 'the hoodoo' was still on ;D
M.Knight 4010 - 3710 B.Mechan - neck and neck the whole game this one. I didn't get many off the break and Bob built a nice lead with an excellent 3100 break which he kept. I then caught up and when I came off we were dead level. A bit of play at the top of the table meant that Bob needed the 200 for a tie - he missed and I knocked in the 100 to take it to a decider
D.Roberts 4420 - 4450 G.Mechan - another extremely tight and quality game, after Gary came off quite early Dave built a nice lead with a 2900 break. Gary played some classy shots to get the break back, but had a bit of a struggle with it and Dave was back on - but he pegged what would have been a match winning break and with time running out Gary ensured he would need the 100 to win and although the ball thought about, it dropped in to give Gary the win in a great match
Excellent match and company, with 3 of the 5 games going to the last ball with all results possible, a proper competitive match played in great spirit - 'the hoodoo' has been broken!!

Bill Kerr 1870 9640 Terry Molloy * Terry opened with over 7k giving Bill little chance
Rick Cunningham * 5860 4040 Doug Dawson Rick opened with 3.7, Doug replied with 3.2 putting one up behind. Rick built lead, Doug balls back about 1.5k down only to miss break both balls.
Dave Anscombe 5170 5590 Stuart Mepham * Stuart off early and unable to retrieve the balls, Dave added to his score each visit and built 4.3k lead. Stuart break back with about 5 mins left played table out to grab it.
Colin Green * 9410 2530 Terry Coughlan Colin opened with 4k Terry break back off at 2k, Colin kept adding to score to take it to decider
Tony Jenner 3000 11380 Terry Race * Terr off at 3.5K TJ balls straight back only to cock up one up(both watching teams thought I got a kick, not sure) but Terry then added another 7k and touched, I played out remaining time.
Good three - two to the Doom and Gloom an excellent night with plenty of banter.

Wellie v Atlas was either 1-4 or 2-3. The 1-4 is more likely.
