You have a long way to go, Sav. My best so far - 7,120 (then again I have been at it for hours!) Who's going to be first to score 10K, and how is that recorded?. It's no good claiming the 10K without knowing what happens about the scoreboard! Well I know Chris Reeves (Feed the Goat) has a 14k score (yes 14k!) on the older version with no side spin options, so it won't be long before he gets that on the latest version I guess. He is just anonoyed he has not run the table out yet As for me 5k break is my best effort on the new version.

Ah! but this version makes you move the mouse between breaks - that should slow him down!

Had my first go just now, after having to re-instal WinZip. Whilst still in a flap, I managed 250 break at 4-pin and 430 break at 3-pin. Not very good, but then the tables are more difficult around Mid Sussex ! ;D ;D ;D
Absolutely excellent bit of kit, Martin. Must have a go some time at Bagatelle (table three) which will be a whole new ball game for some people.
Thanks for the link.

I wish I had sound Sav, I have the M2N SLI-Deluxe ASUS wireless edition motherboard. Got plenty of power and RAM :P ::) 8-) 8-) There is no on board sound, I have tried with games and music and no sound. Even in the sound devices menu there are NO options. Is this not yours then ? It has full 6 channel sound ???? www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=301&model=1160&modelmenu=1

Martin, I don't know if others get the same but one criticism is shots at balls hanging over the hole seem to 'miss' too much, there appears to be too much bounce back from the impact. Only played it for about 10 mins so far though.

There's the first serious target, had about 2 mins left, missed the one-up starting to rush for 10k Sav

'Sounds' like you're mssing drivers my friend. start / control panel / system / device manager Any question marks that signify no drivers??? I think they are normally yellow ? look in 'Sound' for drivers as well. If so go to the asus site and download the sound drivers. HTH Chris.

Sav, How do you do the screen shot?
I think you must have sorted your one up now to score that!

By the way Martin, the latest version on the web is brilliant, having the reposition the cursor slightly after each ahot works really well and means you have to get each shot just right.
It also has slowed my scoring rate slightly, I have now scored just over 10k in 10 minutes (not break though) and I think it will be a real challenge now to get very high scores but still possible.

Sav, How do you do the screen shot? Not telling you if you've beaten me :P Whilst the game is the active window, hold down 'alt' and press 'printscreen'. This puts the picture into memory. Fire up your favourite paint programme (paintshoppro for me) and paste the image. Crop to the bit you want and save it, Google tinypic and upload the piccie. {img}yourpiccie{/img} (sq barckets) URL is generated automatically for you, just copy it and put it in your post. Sav

I think you must have sorted your one up now to score that! Not really, played a lot of 50/30's, the shot goes nicely with some top. Also hitting the Oxford a touch thin with some right puts both balls down the 100 hole. I found you have to bang it to get the ball to the 100 hole and the 50 was arriving too fast, so started takin it a touch thinner so the red had slowed by the time it reaches the 100. plus a lotta luck!! Dillon points to HVP as there is a four pin option, but he wasn't quick enough deleting the post. Tart points to me for dropping him in it ;D ;D Sav

A new benchmark - first 10k break? Didn't quite play the table out had 30 secs left, but relieved to keep score after nearly missing the ball on 9k. I won't tell you how many goes it took me!!

It is a great game, I guess many sleepless nights ahead :-[ ;)
Thank you for taking the time to make the game from scratch, a lot of effort has gone in to this so thank you.

Finally managed to play the table out - 14,130. This was on the first version of the game...... who needs side spin and high kicking cushions?! ;)

I'm so glad you all seem to enjoy it - and some pretty impressive scores, although I think you ought to do it with the new version goat! It's a bit more tricky with having to move the mouse between shots.
ps Glad to be of service Johnny!

Upped the bar to 12,330, missed the one up with a minute to go. 15k definitely possible, the game before I broke off with 7,500 in 5 minutes before missing on 10k.

Noticed that if the white peg is hit before the black, it counts as a black peg! I am not sure but I think its only meant to count as a white peg ???

However I tried it because I would love to have this game as perfect as possible, I am sure Martin would agree!

Oops - I've implemented the old Portsmouth BB rule - black always counts.
Personally I think this is a better rule. If you've hit it bad enough to take out the white with enough pace to get to the black as well, I think you deserve the black penalty. I take the point that is always made about the white diverting the line, but it would still be a terrible shot in my book. What do other people think?
Anyway, I'll work on a fix in the next couple of days - with a special no sound version for Johnny!

Good news however, I now have sound! Both versions work now :D I agree with you Martin on the Black should always count, but then that wouldn't be the rules then!
