Finally played the table out breaking the 15k barrier, more is certainly possible though.

Well done Nigel! But where did the cushions go in the screenshot? Very odd!! Cheers Martin, the cushions just disappeared at the end when the final score came up, don't know if it happened before though.

At least I know it can't be a fake score - no-one would know what was under the cushion graphic but me, so it must be a glitch in the display routines somewhere.
mysteriouser and mysteriouser!

Excellent game Martin, only played it for a short while due to my inaebriated state over the weekend, but is highly addictive One small observation, the balls do sometimes defy the laws of gravity and hang over the holes

Thanks for the message pete. the balls do sometimes defy the laws of gravity and hang over the holes In actual fact the ball centres are 'just' on the table if they don't drop - I guess we're all used to sunken pockets. Either that or a lot more people 'shake the table' than I thought! ;D

..... or a lot more people 'shake the table' than I thought! ;D So when do we get the nudge facility like we get on 'real tables' ;) A real question now, how difficult would it be to allow moving the ball on the 'D' using the mouse directly rather than the two arrows ?

..... or alternatively if that proves difficult to interact how about two keys being set to move left and right, for example 'A' and 'S' or read from an ini file two letters of the key that way anyone can set their preference of keys.

I have downloaded this and my work laptop, and it appears to work fine. (Apart from the appalling user!!) Cannot seem to get it to work on my own lappy though - would it be because it is Vista?

Hi Elsie,
I've tested it on Vista (ultimate) and it works ok. What exactly seems to be the problem? You may have to run it as an administrator and/or agree to accept the (supposed) risk because it's not from a recognised software house.
Let me know a few more details and I'll see if I can sort it out for you.
Cheers,
Martin.

Only just had chance to play this, great game. Just one point, is there anyway of getting the spin to keep the same as the last shot ? just a bit of a pain having to keep going over to put side on the ball.

Cheers Milhouse,
I'll probably include an option for this in version 2.
The list is growing - I think I might be busy over the summer!
Martin.

In that case - applying this logic - Martin, can you build in a feature when you have to physically get each ball out of the trap and place them on the table!!!!!! (Only joking!!)

I know you are joking Lorin, the point was that the later modification to the game by Martin stopped the ability to just leave the pointer in one position and repeat shots. Setting the amount of left/right side on and leaving it is no different.
On some snooker PC games then holding shift down while moving the cue would set amount and type of spin, I feel if the abilities of doing these things are to be employed without clicking other places around the screen then this type of method needs to be programmed in and not just 'setting' a constant amount.

Any update on the next version of your great game?

Hi Johnny,
I've been a bit busy lately - I'm studying for my Cert. Ed., and I have a few hand-ins due so I haven't worked on the game for a while. Last deadline is 25th May, so I'll get back to it then.
There's only a couple of changes I want to make to this version - in particular moving the ball on the D.
I've had really good feedback on this - a lot of people seem to like it, so I'm going to work on a big update over the summer - perhaps involving a career mode, and maybe an online league with weekly competitions for high breaks, most down the 200 etc. I'll have to work out some kind of code system for reporting scores etc (not that any of you would dream of exagerating!)
That will all mean a lot of work, so I'm thinking of making a small charge with a built in donation to a Bar Billiards charity (any ideas?).
If anyone has any ideas - let me know what you'd like to see in the big version, and I can be thinking about it over the next few weeks.
Cheers.
Martin I'll

Excellent game implementation, Martin - I downloaded it earlier today and have been playing ever since! If/when you release the next version and want to raise a donation, a. sign me up and b. since I'm in Florida, can I suggest PayPal to make a donation easier?
Thanks,
Andy
