The latest edition to the Saville vintage bike stable is a 1937 BSA Empire Star, for which I have been searching for a couple of years. The bike has come over from Denmark and thus needs an initial registration from DVLA. DVLA often like to inspect 'New' historic vehicles to make sure they are Beezers and not Bitzers, This one is A1
Problem is you can only book an inspection over the counter, which means I have had to drive 50 miles to Maidstone and 50 miles back, find a parking spot and queue at the office for 30 mins for a ten second slot to tell me the bike needs inspecting and I have to go back Wednesday.
I tried all I could to avoid this but DVLA Swansea would not give me a phone number to correspond with the local office,
What a bureaucratic waste of time and money!!

Jobsworths make me angry too........... Send 'em your bill for petrol for the wasted journey and see how they get on with that.
At least your new acquisition is getting some use ! 8-)
