Hi BB fans
Following Hastings BB AGM, it was agreed to move the start time for league matches from 8.30pm to 8.00pm this means i get home before midnight...harrah!, Eastbourne are likely to follow suit, it would be useful to get input from other leagues especially Lewes as to feasibility of same.
also my other old chestnut... what about Sussex inter league starts on Sundays being bought forward too, I know Horsham are keen to start earlier.
So plenty of feedback required from all you BB fans

Brighton and Worthing League matches are scheduled to start at 8.15pm, however they often don't start until 8.30pm due to late arrivals. ::)
You have to bear in mind that some people don't get home from work until 7pm, by the time that they have had a shower, something to eat and got changed they would struggle to get to an away match (especially travelling to the wilds of Eastbourne from where we live...! :o) in time for an 8pm start. :P
I see no reason that teams could not arrange an early start by mutual consent if they wanted to, but personally I would much rather have a nice peaceful late night drive home on quiet roads after a match than have to try to battle my way home from work through the rush hour traffic only to then have to dash straight out again away to play a game..... especially if I had to do that 4 nights a week. :o ::)
As for Sussex Inter League, my Sundays (when I'm not playing in bar billiard competitions) involve precious time spent with my children before I take them home to Kent after the weekend during early evening.... Inter League matches start at 7.30pm already and are normally over by just after 10pm so, even from Tunbridge Wells, I will be home by 11pm. ;D
If you want to get home before midnight, maybe you should just leave the pub a bit earlier after the game finishes...... ::) ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Elsie, keep the pros and cons coming, biggest hurdle in my view will be "why change...if it ain't broke don't fix it", this may be be true but will this minor tweak to times cause a major headache? of course Warrior is correct, captains can and do mutually agree start times now. regs cs

8.15pm in Dover and Deal and this is never a problem with six legs to play. There are leg forfeiture penalty clauses in our rules but I have never known them need to be applied. The threat is enough.
If there is a danger a player is going to be late for the first leg he is left out of the draw for that leg.
