Not another 10k from Mr Miller? :o I actually witnessed this as I popped in to take a pre-match photo for the website, and stayed for the first game. John T quickly got to grips with the table and opened with 2.5k; John M in his one visit scored a controlled 6.6k in about 10 minutes with shots all over the table including a couple of good splits; John T then played out time but there was only sufficient left for another 2k. Excellent from both players. .....and the scores, now through from John Tidy: Stout House Z 5, Blue Ship Crown 0 John Miller 6510, John Thayre 4580 Vernon Sparkes 8860, Hugh Fowler 1450 Rick Langridge 5310, Dave Sands 3470 Andy Finn 3150, Colin Barrow 1890 Peter Gibbs 4780. Peter Barnett 3750

Dun Horse BFZ Roffey SSC 5
Grant Hope 2650 Glyn Owen 2830 Dave Simmons 1630 Lee Cable 6270 Scott Hope 1860 Dick Cable 7120 Stuart Hope 2780 Dave Howlett 5120 Colin Bolton 3530 Pete Fisher 4150
Game 1. Close game all the way through, Glyn took it after the bar dropped. Game 2. Close game til midway when Moose got his head down. Game 3. Dick in command all the way. Game 4. Twiggy made most of the play, Pops had chances. Game 5. Pete the Fish and Capt. Col trading breaks, another game decided after the bar.
Final result rather disappointing for the Dun with close games slipping away. :-/ Usual raucous fun with the Roffey lads rounded off with some tasty sarnies.

Well, by popular demand I'd better show the two that Margo took as well......... In Pic Two both Gibbsey's and John Thayre's expressions are a bit "WTF ?" And it explains the Junkie 'vanishing act' - all the time he was hiding behind Gibbsey !

Springbok Club 1 Southwater SC 4
G Marshall 2910 K Newman 3930
Keith started well taking an early lead, Gaz fought back well and nudged in front. Keith needed a 1K+ finish to take this game, a close and entertaining one it was too.
B Hicks 1990 A Temple 2150
Tony left his first break up short allowing Bill to take advantage, but it did not happen. Tony slowly got going, with Bill keeping up. Tony needed to pocket the last 2 balls to ensure the win.
K.Nixon 1200 M Blake 2640
A game where Melvyn nosed in front, before the table got stuffed with balls, which Ken could not get back. Both players played steady, but it was the early break that won the game for Melvyn.
T. Goacher 2230 R. Manser BP
Ray's first break was a decent one, but fell fowl when the red ball kicked out the 50 pocket taking a WP down. This gave Trevor the break and he put a decent enough lead on. Ray was unlucky throughout, and every time he had chances something odd just happened. Trevor's knowledge of the home table gave him the advantage. BP taken out with final ball.
G. Jarrett 450 T. Franks 5220
Tony as steady as ever hit a decent break, Graham just could not get going and it was a matter of watch and learn as Tony controlled the table.
A pleasant enough evening and good to see an improvement with the Springbok lads each week, not many 5 Nils now.
Cheers to the Southwater lads for being patient with the table, it can be quirky at times.
