The first Redhill one-day event on the calendar is being staged at St Nicholas School, Merstham tomorrow, Saturday 29th January 2011 (11.30am for 12 noon start) hopefully with a 28 Pairs line-up. (£5 a Pair, gentlemen are expected to pay).
1 player in each combo must be a player registered with the RDBBL. Maximum break is 3k throughout, all Ladies to break off first.
Usually a great competition, involving all standards of player. 'Plate' competition as well as 'Main'. Hot food will be available all afternoon from the Canteen, and Mr Robbins is doing the bar.
Good luck to all taking part.

Once again, a great competition with 28 Mixed Pairs giving their all in the Group Stages of 7 teams playing all-play-all and then Quarterfinal, SemiFinal and Final knockout stages, Cup and Plate, with the Finals being over two frames. (Good to see Sharron Balcombe up and about and wielding a cue again after a long illness.)
Thanks to Dave and Caroline Jones for running the event smoothly - on schedule – no hitches, and to the venue and their caterers, and to Colin Robbins for the bar, those organising the Raffle, and to Master of Ceremonies Gary Powell. And last and not least, to Dave Alder and Co for the table supply. All seemed in tip-top order and were beautifully set up, which bodes well for the Team event tomorrow.
..............and of course Cheers to Sir KT for loaning me Lady H who played superbly all day. 8-) :-*

.......forgot.......had to laugh: wondered why all the younger female members were gathered near the bar giggling. Then realised, at the end of the corridor was the mens changing rooms - naked bodies flashing by at regular intervals. :o The younger females were soon ousted by their more mature counterparts, but with an equal amount of giggling............... ;D Sheila, I'm surprised at you, but Denise was rather peeved to have been playing at the time and missed out!
