Please note that on Sat, 10th April we will be holding a 'blind pairs' competition at the Reigate Ex-Services Club, for Redhill League-registered players.
Partners will be drawn from two groups - the better players partnered by a not-quite-so-good-player.
Forms are available from Gary Powell or from your team captain or from any committee member.
Please come and join in the fun.

Another novel and enjoyable event onthe Redhill calendar took place yesterday.
The concept of 'Blind Pairs' is an original one, you turn up on the day not knowing in advance who you are going to be partnered with - it may be someone you have never met before ! Partnerships were drawn from two pools, one for seasoned players and one for so-called 'lesser' players. A maximum break of 3,000 was permitted for the duration of the competition.
After a series of round-robin matches within four Groups, players were divided into either the Main or Plate competition - or "BFH" (=bus fare home !) and here's how it went from that stage onwards................
Plate Qr finals: Cherry & Mark bt Paul & Linda Sandra & Colleen lost to Elliott & Jason Trish & Gary bt Richard & Keith Ted & Jim lost to Baz & Anita
Semi Finals: Cherry & Mark lost to Elliott & Jason Trish & Gary lost to Baz & Anita
Final (over 2 legs) Elliott & Jason bt Baz & Anita
MAIN: Qr finals: Genette & Sally lost to Caroline & Pete N Barry & Denise lost to Lorraine & Lorraine Sharon & Kevin bt Shuana & Frank Nabila & Dave bt Les & Pete F
Semi Finals: Caroline & Pete N bt Lorraine & Lorraine Sharon & Kevin bt Nabila & Dave
FINAL (over 2 legs) : Caroline & Pete N bt Sharon & Kevin
Grateful thanks to the Reigate Ex-Services staff, to Colin and Brenda for the catering, to the AEBBA for the supply of tables, to those who arrived early to set them up, to the table sponsors, to those who kindly donated raffle prizes and to Sheila for selling the tickets, and last but not least to Caroline and Dave Jones on the Admin Desk ably assisted by master of ceremonies Gary Powell.
Apologies for the lateness of this report............had a few beers when we got in and fell asleep in front of the telly. ::)
Have to make tracks to Reigate again now for the BIOC Ladies, but will disseminate the above information and give plaudits to the winners etc later on today............

What to add ? A "Limes double", a "Nicholls double" and a potential superstar is discovered.
Caroline & Pete N bt Sharon & Kevin in the Main competition......... That's Caroline Jones off the Admin Desk and Pete Nicholls beating Sharon Ward and Kevin Hall in a closely-fought final, Sharon and Kev having beaten Dave Ingram and Nabila Dinsmore and Caroline and Pete having overcome the 'two Lorraines' in the Semis.
Elliott & Jason bt Baz & Anita in the Plate. All hail to 15-year-old Elliott Nicholls, son of Alan and nephew of Pete: With some able assistance from Limes Landlord Jason Wadsworth, the youngster played solid bar billiards throughout the day and saw out the last moments of the Final (v Old Oak B pair Anita Blackman and Baz "I'm Still Standing" (- well, just about) Symons with an impressive 970 clearance. The youngster is based in Rochdale and only gets to stay down south with his dad for a couple of weeks in each year so his opportunities for a game are severely limited, he having not encountered a single table 'oop North. As Chairman Gary Powell commented, if Elliott ever takes up the game seriously, watch out, he is going to be a real force to be reckoned with. We think he has henceforward earned the right to be called "Lancashire's Number One". 8-)
