Surrey's A team took part in AEBBA's county championships at Reading on Sunday 19th September.
The team, consisting of Geoff Jukes, Dave Constable, Terry Oakley, Gary Powell, Clive Thompson, Jason Wadsworth and Tony Cross once again finished in 2nd place in Division 2 - for the Fifth time in seven years. Both Geoff and Gary won all four of the games they played.
Surrey started well with a 5-2 win over Buckinghamshire, but were then defeated 2-5 by the eventual divisional winners Oxfordshire 'B'. The team then rallied well, with 6-1 defeats of both Northants and closest rivals Sussex 'B'.

On 3rd October it is the turn of Surrey A and B Ladies, who are competing in the Ladies' equivalent at Reading and we wish them every bit of luck going! ;D On the same day Gary Powell will represent Surrey in the AEBBA Singles.
There will be no Surrey B team this year for the 3rd Division due to be played on 17th Oct.
