Redhill League are pleased to announce……………..
.........that the first- ever
Surrey Open is now a ‘goer’. 8-)
We have a date (arrived at following discussions with other emissaries such as Sir KT – hope he won’t mind me saying so) – but of course this is provisional to being able to reserve tables with Brian Daniels for the appropriate weekend.
We have a good venue which is able to supply food throughout the day, and if the sun shines on us there will be an outdoors barbecue. :P
There will be parking for 60 to 70 vehicles.
The standard fee for entry to the tournament will apply, and Surrey being central for most counties, we are looking for a line-up of around 96 players.
An official approach will be made to the AEBBA to seek their endorsement of the event as an additional one on their calendar, and for it to be classed as a ranking event.
So here are the details which I have been given permission to leak to the Forum.
Date: Sunday 10th May 2009
Venue: St Nicholas’s School, Taynton Drive, Merstham, Surrey.Once we have had the event officially sanctioned, an entry form will be displayed on the Redhill – and hopefully the AEBBA – websites early next year.
*****Should have added, of course there will be a bar - so no danger of any raging thirsts going unquenched on the day********
