The Redhill League sent their usual quota of competitors to Jersey last week for the World Championships. And pick of the players this time was Richard Plaw, who made it to the Fifth Round (Last 16) and brought back a prize.
Dave Constable, Jason Wadsworth and Geoff Jukes all survived the first two rounds, and survived into the Sunday before falling to Roy le Page (Guernsey), Harry Barbet (Jersey) and Kevin Hall (Sussex) respectively.
David Jones made it as far as the Last 8 in the Plate.
Here is Richard's record in the World Championship of 2009: 1st Rd beat Andy Rundle (Guernsey Champion) 2nd Rd beat Steve Holley (Jersey) 3rd Rd beat Fred Jeanne (Jersey) 4th Rd beat Sue Mariner (Sussex) 5th Rd lost to Dennis Helleur (Jersey).
