Dolphin 3 - 2 White Hart
L.Hickman 2820 - 1990 D.East D.Hickman 4340 - 570 B.Hanscomb C.Oakley 2570 - 1690 B.Harrison P.Hickman 2120 - 5000 H.Tunstall KK 1410 - 3140 M.Brown
A tricky top down the end of table but with a bit of patience it gets better. You'd think I would learn for last week but I lost my opening break so only end up on 3k again. 1-0 Damo had a lovely game off early with 1k but kept his head down and got our top score. 2-0 Chris did his thing of leaving it 'til the last minute, as Bill commanded from the off. 3-0 With the win in the bag, and the pressure off... Pete got whooped by Hayley ;) 3-1 KK had the worst luck of the night, playing the right shots with the right pace but nothing 3-2.
Lots of complaints RE the poor temperature, we're investing into a space heater for the match room from now on :)

Tarring Club 1 v 4 Swan `B`.
Pete Brown 2,150 v 4,090 Roger Taylor. Chris Cox 7,520 v 0,510 Joe Oakley. Bob Bourner 0,900 v 6,240 Brian Richards. Dave Collins B/P v 6,800 Matthew Squire. No player v W/O Doug Mahy.
Tarring only had 4 players so Doug had a walk over. Table very good, sandwiches good. Well done Joe on his first Worthing league game, played their best player.

On a tricky New Sussex top. The break was hard to get!
Game 1. Dave off cheaply and Chris applied pressure straight away and slowly built confidence in his game. Games 2. Steve also played steady but surely. Game 3. Ross played a lovely game to start with but couldn't get the break, but steadily grew confidence in the table playing one up, Colin couldn't get a break going to start with. Ross put his cue ball straight down the black peg. Colin then started to play. Game 4. Bobhall started missing the break shot but gradually got his game going and never looked like losing. Game 5. Brian off cheaply. I go the break back but couldn't manage the break throughout the game, but kept scoring whenever on the table.
New Sussex B Romans C Lucas 2320 1700 D Roberts S Hurley 2970 1370 S Bettles C Green 2520 160 R Pettiford B Hall 3150 740 D Bartram D Jones 4030 2320 B Bartram 5 0 Total Score 14990 6290 Average per man 2998 1258
An excellent evening with good company

Dave, have you go the Marine View v Henty game scores? :) Game awarded 4-1 to Marine B, as no score cards there will not be any ranking points awarded to those who had played.

I think Enzo may be referring to last week's match between Marine View 'A' and the Henty rather than the Marine View 'B' and the Henty from a couple of months ago.

No Enzo This match was abandoned and have asked both captains for the scorecard I heard that the match was level at 2-2, apparently the last player for the Henty arrived very late to the match only to find that the Marine View A had no 5th player to play the last game.... understand that there was some dispute between the teams as to whether the last Henty player would be entitled to claim the game and that the matter was being referred to the League Committee.

Didn't we clear this up at the last committee meeting? Unless it's a coincidence I thought it was the Marine View 'B' team that arrived to find the Henty had a very delayed 5th player. Has the same sort of thing happened again?

Has the same sort of thing happened again? According to one of the Henty team, who was the player that was late and subsequently arrived at our match at the Cellar Bar shortly after 10pm on the night, yes.... the same thing has happened again although I don't know if it is the same player involved in both instances. :o ::)

It was brought up at the Committee meeting but I think some of us assumed it was still the first instance not that it had happened again. It wasn't the same player however.

This was certainly not discussed at Committee. There was a very brief reference to something that may have happened, but I don't believe either team has raised the matter as a subject for discussion.
I have since heard one side of the story and, whilst I fully accept what I was told, it would be inappropriate to comment until both teams have had the opportunity to state their case.
I think one of the biggest problems, and this unfortunately applies predominantly to the Lower Divisions, is that the teams, and specifically the Captains, don't know the rules!
As I don't think that anyone from one of the teams concerned uses this forum, I would suggest that no further comments are made until either/both teams raise this as a matter for discussion at Committee, otherwise it could become a bit one-sided.

This was certainly not discussed at Committee. If this was in reference to me, I said brought up at the committee, of which it did by the way of Dave Jones. You are right in saying this wasn't fully discussed though, hence the confusion.
