Lots of Eynsham players are involved in competitions that night. This is nothing to do with the date, is it?

Pete Ewins Secretary :( :'( Can i ask why the meeting has been called, or what the issues are ? As Pete has said, Eynsham league have games, so it would be nice to know what the issues are and can then decide if to try and rearrange the game.

I had a message from Pete E about the withdrawal of tables by B B Ltd, so I assume that would be the priority.

As a slightly interested person, and unable to make the meeting, would anybody like to tell me what the situation is exactly.

Surely if this was true, all league secretary's would have been informed by post & the pubs with the remaining few tables would also know about it (our's doesn't). Most certainly a 'wind-up' i think..............

If it's the same as down here in outer Kent, we have had two lots of 'Pay up or we take it away' rounds from Bar Billiards Ltd.
It's no wind up, if it is the case in Oxfordshire. It's cost our league three tables we could ill afford to lose so far, with at least one more under threat.
Bar Billiards can make far more by selling the tables than by renting them for several years on the old share basis. The old company, as we have known it for years, is under different owners now, what loyalty is there in business??
The first thing one of our teams knew about it was when they turned up to play a match and the table had gone! We, as a league, were told nothing.
Sav.

If this wasn't an April Fool why has no one posted any minutes or a summary of the discussions. I don't play in the Oxford league but it would be a shame to see tables dissapppear if this was for real.

Wake up Keith and smell the atmosphere! I did smell the atmosphere so to speak hence the way I phrased my posting. All I am saying is as much as the game frustrates me at times I still wouldn't want to see the tables go as it makes a refreshing change from playing pool all the time.

Update
In every instance the first opportunity to purchase the table will be by the licensee of the pub/club, or in the case of a managed house the brewery. Ken Hussey will be writing to all pubs and clubs in the near future to give them the opportunity to consider this option and to discuss it, where relevant with the Billiards team.
May i suggest that teams discuss it with their licensee. Tables will not be transferred until payment is received in full
Pete :(
