I heard the news on my radio this morning of a fire over the weekend at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.
Apparently the main hospital buildings weren't affected but "a defunct Sports and Social Club on the premises was".
Though it's not defunct, could that mean St Francis ?
Any further news from those closer in hand would be appreciated, as we have a match there this Wednesday ! (Team Knockout Plate, Handcross Z v Watermill B)

(Team Knockout Plate, Handcross Z v Watermill B) From the BBC news report: A spokeswoman said: "Arson hasn't been ruled out...." Isn't that a little far to go to avoid playing the St Francis top? :o ;D ;) :D Seriously though, this report from the Argus shows it was really a derelict hall scheduled for demolition: www.theargus.co.uk/news/generalnews/display.var.1945932.0.fire_tears_through_haywards_heath_hall.phpBy the way, we once played a team cup/plate game at St Francis where they managed to set fire to the chip pan while doing our refreshments. The alarm went off, we had to evacuate the club and the fire brigade put out the fire - match abandoned!

I can beat that Ros.... barbilliards.proboards30.com/index.cgi?board=lewes&action=display&thread=1170723186We were asked if anyone would be needing a drink in the next ½hour or so because the landlady was about to call the fire brigade, so we all ordered, went to the loo and then went outside as the fire brigade arrived. (well it was a cold night ;D )
