Hurst A 4 CKRBL 1 ;D
The Old Fella 3170 - 5870 Pete Edwards :( A solid win for Pete to put the visitors in front with Roy running out of time as he was closing the gap down. 0-1
BB Reaper 7910 - 790 Jenny Edwards :D Kevin reaped his revenge for last weeks cup defeat with a good 5k break in the middle of the game. 1-1
Papa Hall 6350 - 3490 Shaky Coles :D A good start from Shaky, but Pete used his experience to good effect with an excellent 5k break which give Shaky too much to catch in the end. 2-1
Rob "Peggy" Hall 2380 - 2020 Derek "4 times break" Taylor :o ??? The game that nobody seemed to want to win..... Rob knocking pegs over and Derek putting both balls down from the break 4 times running! Rob eventually managed to clear the balls (and miss the pegs!) and ran in a 1k break to finish the match. 3-1
BB Warrior 6360 - 710 Ted Stringer ;D With Ted losing a promising opening break and me pegging my reply, we tried hard to compete with the previous match..! Eventually I managed to get the balls back and knocked in a 5800 break before touching up when the bar dropped. 4-1
A highly enjoyable evening, lots of banter and some excellent sarnies supplied by Peggy....!! ;)

Brewers Droops 4 Watermill 'B' 1
Graham Sparksman 1390 Paul Blackburn 1550 Colin Humphrey 1830 Sabina Williams 1380 Andy Farmer-Wright 3100 Steve Lathwell 2040 Lorraine Hall 1460 Tony Williams 1040 Richard Jeffrey 1930 Gavin Boyd 960
Unlucky the Watermill, as you can see table not playing too good, games could have gone either way. Great evening & good food.

Handcross Z 2, the Unicorn minus its horn 3
John Turner 1910, Ian Powell 990 Mr Mike007 2040, Jim Quinn 2240 tommo 6710, Brian Coleman 220 Barry Timson 1710, Colin Mansfield 3140 Alan Downs 1490, Giles Garnet 2010
tommo is puzzled. The break was easy, the split went okay, and the balls seemed to come back reasonably well. The Zeds shouldn't be ring rusty - it's our third match since Christmas after all - maybe we'll just write it off as the usual defeat against our 'bogey team'.
The opponents. Very sporting, the captain declined to roll the balls left in the tray, saying he trusted the level of the table. And they lingered afterwards to chat up/flirt with the barmaid. So some Mr Kipling points there, maybe, especially as their team contained a Colemanator. ;) ;D

Rob "Peggy" Hall 2380 - 2020 Derek "4 times break" Hall :o ??? Did Derek get married, or change his name by deed-poll?? ;) ;) ;D TIR, you managed to post before me after all. A lovely evening at the Greyhound, with good food as usual. :) Congrats to Rob Driver, who played exceptionally well even though he pegged a late 2.5k break. He said he was playing Killer Bar Billiards until 3am to win £30 - obviously the type of practice and incentive he needs! ;)

Ooops...... thanks for spotting that Ros, there were just so many Halls around that I got carried away! :-[ ;)
Bit of a shock for the Zeds tonight Tommo...... :o I didn't expect that result, but the Hornless Unicorn (I LIKED that one ;)) always seem to do well against you guys... maybe it is the Colemanator effect....... ???

Hi Roy
Should the Plough's record read played 12 (rather than 10) as there don't seem to be any other teams who have played less games? ???

It's for Jock's benefit..............a long story. ;D you'll have to check out the quiz room, but in a nut shell tommo and I have a differing view of what a Unicorn is. I thought we'd settled our argument on that one. An English Unicorn is a beautiful White Horse with flowing mane and a spiralled horn on its bonce, which is friendly and very gentle with young maidens. And the Scottish variant is a hideous monster with cloven hooves, straggly beard, a raging hard-on and a lions tail, which would be certain to scare my granddaughters. ;D ;D ;D ;D The appropriate thread, for anyone interested, is General Knowledge Quiz XXXI.

Correct tabulation for the above with assistance from Sav - thank you! ;) Match details for the games not reported on above.... All catch-up games were completed over the past few weeks with Greyhound beating Plough, Hurst Club winning at the Sportsman and Bravos victorious over Windmill. Saints had to tour the club to find the table, resulting in a frantic effort to get it into a playable condition. It must have worked as the home side took the first legs with wins for Chris Little, The Special One and Ray Fogwill. Steve Smith’s solid performance in the fourth saved the brush and grabbed an important point before Matt Geal won the fifth frame for Saints. Watermill A took four frames from visiting Bravos but remain at the bottom of the premier. The first three games all went to the side with wins for John Staplehurst, Big Norm and Kim Stenning. Steve Dudman won Bravos’ only point in an impossible low scoring leg before John Willis wrapped it up for the Mill.
