Are the Masons A/berinsfield & Glads B/Vikings A games TBA because suitable venues need to be arranged as the draw is a lower section team against a higher section team? If this is the case why is the Kennington/Comrades game being played at the Demo's which both teams have played on in the league yet the Vikings B/Marlborough game is at Kennington, a table which neither team has played on? Doesn't seem very fair to me or am I just being naive & stupid?????

I think its unfair that Glads B have played at berinsfield in the league this season and we haven't. Thought it was neutral

Lewis
Where else do you play it then? If it is played on a Premier/Section 1 table which you have played on all season then that is unfair to them and no disrespect to the Gladiators B you should have a good enough team to beat them (Your in Premier they are in Section 3!!) :)

Lewis, our game against Berinsfield Club was the first game of the season, played on 29th September 2011 the table will have changed from way back then. :) I personally can't remember how a table plays from one week to the next. ;D Shock result? ;) :D ;D

The most obvious thing to do would be for someone (not me) to propose for next year that the Scotland Ash Cup & Plate S/Finals be played the same way as every round is at the moment, i.e. Drawn Home or Away!!
Then you wouldn't have to worry about neutral venue's/tables.

That wont work as a lower section team could end up playing at a top sides table all semis should be on neutral table.

That wont work as a lower section team could end up playing at a top sides table all semis should be on neutral table. That's "luck of the draw" and if it was the other way round then the "lower section team" would have a better chance to make the final, being at home! Also, there is now a proposal put in for the change on the "proposals thread" from Dave Gordon, who is a "lower section player"! ::)

SAC Plate
Gladiator Club 'B' V Vikings 'A' at Berinsfield Club.
1. Alan Oliver 5910 beat Jenny Webb 460 :( Jenny just couldn't get going but Alan gave her the chances. :) 2. Mick Jones 4750 beat Richard Stowe 1070 :( Again the normal trouble, four trips to the table before I score a point, but thanks to Mick for giving me the chances. :) 3. Alan Lacey 2380 lost to Grant Johnson 2990. :) Grant was in front, Alan was on the table at the end on a break but just did not have the time left to catch Grant. :) 4. Ian Moss 3340 beat Neil Cunliffe 2090 :( This game was closer than it looks at the beginning but Ian pulled away towards the end of the game to win. 5. Lewis Stratford 5210 beat Grant Johnson 2320 We only had four players tonight what with Phil's illness and Reg being away, this game was played to give Lewis a game.
Vikings 'A' 4 Gladiator Club 'B' 1
A good Match played in a good atmosphere and good people on a night with so much bad news.
I am looking for a team that I can sign for and definitely not play so I can stay on the committee next season.
