Here are last nights results -
Landlords/Lower Div Captains Loz Hickman bt Brian Bartram 2-1 Loz should have won this 2 straight, but miscued and missed the ball when having the game at his mercy.
Mens Doubles Dave Ingram & Henry Brooks bt KT & Ian Lelliott 2-1 Unfortunately for us, Ian missed a ball behind the 10 hole when on a winning 8k break :-/
Mixed Doubles Steve Aylmore & Nikki Oakley bt Pete & Jane Hickman 2-1
Lower Div Doubles Loz & Chris Oakley bt Hayley & Gareth 2-0 - Gareth pegged a 3k break which would have won the first.
Ladies Doubles Jean & Sandra bt Colleen & Chris 2-1
Lower Div Singles Loz Hickman bt Dave Roberts 2-0 - After the Lower Doubles Final, Loz was in unstoppable form.
Ladies Singles Lorraine Hall bt Sandra Race 2-1 - An excellent Ladies Final from what i can gather :P
Mens Singles KT bt Nigel 2-1 ;)

Kevin lost the first game on last ball on Nigels break,on the second game he then played the table out, the third game is even breaks with equal oppotunity, his first break, and he again played the table out!!, Nigel did not reply with much on his break and conceeded. Brilliant.

One might be forgiven for thinking "good toss to win" but apparently Nige won the toss, and put KT in! :o :o
At this level a different set of values kick in, and I expect that Nigel's thinking was that it would be good to know his target. He was apparently up with the pace - speeding up even - when on just under 5k he put a one-up behind the hole. A memorable final by all accounts.

Yes it was a great final and well done Kevin
The way the breaks work is that you toss a coin and the winner chooses whether to break in the first on second games, ordinarily the winner of the toss will choose to break in the 2nd game as KT did last night.
If it goes to a 3rd game the player who lost the toss can choose whether to go first or second in game 3 and there is equal time in this game. Tommo is right in saying I chose to go 2nd as I would know my target. 2 years ago I put myself in in the same situation and I rushed missing on 12k and Kev overtook me fairly comfortably so this year I decided to do something different in the same situation - it still didn't work though!
What I will add though, is that making two back to back run outs is one thing but the fact it was done on that table is even more impressive. The table rolled a fair ammount right, making the one up and split tricky (my first 50-10 hit the 100 hole in game 1!). That is probably the best I have seen Kevin play, given he narrowly lost the first game also and the difficulty of the table.
Well done to all the winners on a good finals night

Well done to all winners and a memorable mens final with Kt scoring over 17k break in the 2nd game and then setting 19k plus in the decider. Well done to Loz Hickman who played in three finals and won them all. Attendance not to bad. Thanks to KT for running the evening and doing the football cards, all those who turned up to support.
