For a reminder of the Rules, here was the Q) and A) session from last year: Q) What order are the games played in..... singles first, or doubles? A) THREE SINGLES, THEN THE TWO DOUBLES. Q) Are the players for each game nominated, or drawn? A) DRAWN BEFORE THE START OF THE MATCH. Q) Is it even breaks in each game, or does one team actually get 3 breaks and the other team only 2, or is it just even breaks in the last game - assuming that is singles? A) ONE TEAM GETS 3 BREAKS AND THE OTHER ONLY 2. TOSS FOR CHOICE OF 1,3 & 5 OR 2 & 4. BUT LEVEL BREAKS THROUGHOUT.Q) Do teams need to contact the venues where the matches are due to be played, or will the organisers notify the venues? A) IT'S A SET NIGHT, SO PETER WILL HAVE NOTIFIED THE VENUES. I WILL PREPARE THE TABLE FOR THE SWSC A V PLOUGH P/G. Q) What time do the matches start.... 8.30pm? A) YES, 8.30PM Q) Please could somebody also e-mail a copy of the scorecard to participating teams that have not played in Billingshurst League before? A) PETER HAS ALREADY DONE THIS VIA E-MAIL. YOU CAN ALSO COPY THE SCANNED COPY I'VE PUT UP ON THIS THREAD.

Game played last night ended in a surprise win for the Stout House ::)
Graham 1540 Sam 2260
A fairly tight affair with neither doing much on their first visit, Sam settle and nudged in front. Graham made a late come back, but run out of time.
Trevor 470 (???) Tony 3230
Trevor broke OK and then found a peg, Tony did not capatilise. A bit untidy but Tony got nose in front. Trevor really having no luck racking up points only to peg. Tony strung together a nice break to claim the game.
Gary 2630 John 7090
John broke well with over 1K and this was beaten by young Gaz, JT put together a couple of decent breaks, and was playing really well ( he asked me to put that in ;)). Gaz tried hard to claw back points but damage was done.
Bill & Gary 1980 Pete & John 4230
Initially this was like a game of singles with neither Gaz or JT contributing to the points. Eventually they got going and with Pete and JT hitting a decent break each claimed the game.
Trevor & Graham BP Tony & Sam 2360
Not a great game but close throughout. Trevor and Graham were ahead with the last ball, but with nothing to play for chose to go for the 200 pocket, game over :'(
A great night with the Stout House gang and good luck in the next round.
Alfold table played well and the beer was free flowing.

On the part of the Stout House, Thank Springbok for a lovely evening, and in my PERSONAL un bias opinion the Alfold SC Table is still the best table in the league.

Thanks Ron for remembering the cup. I will now be able to return it to J.T.
As luck would have it, the long-lost Runners-up cup turned up last night at the club. ::)
That second game last night between Jim and Ian was a good'un - one break each so I understand. 8-)

Southwater SCA 3 Dun Horse 2
A good night in the company of BB celebrities. Everybody had trouble with the break some getting it now & again & some not at all. A very close match that went to the last ball last game.
Melvin Blake 2810 Adam Bateup 3280 Keith Newman 1990 Paul Jobbins 1630 Tony Franks 3160 Graham Sparksman 2810
Tony Temple/Keith Newman 3360 Graham/Adam 4380 Ray Manser/T Franks 2380 Iang/Richard Spurrier 2310
With the match at 2 all Ray needed the 200 to win the decider which he got first time :(
Thanks to the Sprinbok Club for some nice sarnies.

White Hart beat Alfold SC 3-1 last night on a slow but reasonably good Windmill table. Wins for myself, Nipper and then Lady H /Nipper in the first pairs, Garry for Alford.

Holbrook Club 2 3 Blue Lagoon
A great evening at the Stout House with plenty of banter and thanks to the landlord for supplying sandwiches. An evenly fought match where all games could have gone either way.
