New Sussex 'A' 5 v Dolphin 0
All i can say is a very interesting night at The Cellar Bar, the table has been moved about a foot closer the bar and hasn't been levelled. It has a lovely left hand roll on it so much of one you had to aim a ball right of the one you were aiming for ????????
apart from that an enjoyable evening.

Old House 3 - Wellie 2
I don't think I will add any more to this write-up of last nights match.

apart from that an enjoyable evening. Indeed the company and banter was the best and only enjoyable part of the evening, Ian Lelliott believes, and I quote 'it was the worst table I've played on in years' which was a shame as we were all looking forward to some good games and scores not scrappy 2k/3k games! The only one who seemed to take it seriously was Martin who took the high score against young Joe!

Old House 3 - Wellie 2 I don't think I will add any more to this write-up of last nights match. Here is a brief summary of the match.... with approximate scores from memory. :-/ Tony Burgess (2.6k) beat Chris Tupper (1.4k) Graham Lewis (1.5k) lost to Nigel Senior (3.9k) Mark James (6k) beat Mal Spier (1k) Gary Ridley (4k) beat John Perrin (3.4k) Paul Barnett (1k) lost to Dave Ingram (10.9k) Dolphin table was "interesting".... predominately uphill with a left hand roll and plenty of things to catch people out as soon as you got away from the break. ::) I still don't quite understand why the table has to be so close to the wall on the right hand side, it seems unnecessary and makes some shots on the table impossible to play. The table could easily either be moved 6 inches to the left or angled away from the wall which would remove this problem immediately and would still not be in the way of the door behind the table. :P But an enjoyable evening with plenty of laughs and a well deserved win for the Old House.... best of luck to them in the next round. 8-)

I have to apologise to the White Hart and Marine View A teams who played at the Olde House last night.
I went into the pub on Tuesday to inform them that there was a game scheduled for Thursday and ask if the teams could have something to eat. I noticed then that the table had been moved, but thought if I put it right on Tuesday it would probably be moved again before Thursday and so resolved to go in early Thursday evening to set the table up.
I must be getting senile because I totally forgot to do this (I did have a funny day yesterday - both my computers broke down and the computer man was round my place when I should have been in the Olde House). Even (left-handed) Mal Spier lining up shots from the right side of the Dolphin table to see if he could play them did not trigger my memory - for some reason it was Tony Burgess pulling the handle for the first game that eventually set the brain cogs turning by which time it was of course too late.
So apologies to both teams - hope you had a good evening otherwise.

All of last night`s venues proved difficult it seems. The Cellar Bar (as Chocie said earlier) had been moved to the right, which made it better for the long cuers, but it wasn`t levelled and the light was still in the original place :-/
The Swan `B` bt the Blue Lagoon 3-2 at the Atlas, which according to Matthew was very awkward as well.
If any teams are sent to the Dolphin for a match, I can`t see any problem with moving the table out the necessary distance. The floor is solid so it shouldn`t make a lot of difference to the way it plays. If the rumours are correct, Tescos may be buying the pub anyway for another Tesco express, so this might be the last year there. :'(

Very enjoyable evening with plenty of banter, some head scratching, close games going to the wire, thanks to the Atlasfor hosting us, and to the Swan for a fun evening. Scores show the story of the table, but same for both sides and good luck to the Swan in the next round, plate here we come
