A good fightback by the visitors in the doubles with the home team players possibly weighed down by too much of the excellent curry..... ::) ;D
Very enjoyable evening in good company.... and a special thank you to the chef (Ben) who provided a very nice tagliatelle as an alternative to the curry for Colleen. 8-)

The "other" chef is Benson (being his nickname), or Richard (being his real name). Anyway...
8 Bells 5 - 1 Laughing Fish
Dilly Williamson 1780 - 1300 Les Whiteman Ros Appleby 1310 - 1140 Ray Carpenter Derek Taylor 1790 - 990 Henry Brooks Tony Driver 1360 - 200 Jamie Hall
Dilly + Trevor 1670 - 1100 Ray + Les Derek + Ros 1940 - 2610 H + Jamie
We'll start on a couple of positive notes - Ros and her team were welcoming and friendly as always and we enjoyed their company throughout the evening. Also many thanks go to the 8 Bells for providing a lovely pasta bake.
Now, I promised both myself and Ros that I would "behave" with my analysis of the table, so I have decided to leave the table well alone, and just give some comments on the games to let people draw their own conclusions. As you can see only one score over the evening of more than 2k, only once did someone reach the point of a "one-up", not one split shot went anywhere near the correct pockets, and it was fairly rare for anyone to get the break back beyond the opener. Only one break of more than 1k (from Dilly), which he sadly pegged, and more fluked 100 pots than I've seen for a while. On a personal note I would say more of the balls I potted last night were flukes than shots I actually went for.
Also the locals around the bar who were clearly "well-oiled" and swearing their heads off would have been ejected from the Fish after about 2 minutes!
Back to the original sentiment though, thankyou to Ros, her team, and the pub itself for what was largely an enjoyable evening.

Had I had a few, goodness knows what my early hours report would have said!
