Jubilee Cup Quarter-final result:
The Mill 1, SWSC B 3 (@ Windmill, Littleworth)
Johnny Haigh 1370, *Jeff Raine 2180 *Barry Timson 1780, Tom Darkins 2520 tommo 2580, *Gordon Ling 1520 *Vicky/Barry 1710, Tom/Jeff 2220
last frame margo/tommo v Gordon/Ollie not required.
"The Tom and Jeff show" - both played exceptionally well on an extremely slow and unforgiving Windmill table. Best of luck to this plucky side in the Semi-Final - hope the Draw is kind to them. ;)
Many thanks to the venue for the post-match sarnies.

Spotted a forlorn-looking Mr Jobbins at Faygate bus-shelter on the way through.....hope he didn't arrive too bedraggled at the Railway! :o Mr Jobbins was waiting for his lift with Mr Giffen. I can testify to the fact that he arrived in fine fettle ;) I will let Ian post the result tomorrow night - I will tantalise you by saying that it was a very close fought battle.

the team stuck it out with out captain tonight and did mamahall proud the [glow=red,2,300]springbok club table is tricky to say the least[/glow] but an enjoyable night and even had a gentlemen come in taking his cat for a walk Hi we find the table a struggle ourselves and even checked levels before the game and it seemed ok, though playing it tells you a different story. Any help to sort it would be appreciated. Cheers Trevor

hi scuba the table would suit better out of the conservatory there is plenty of space at the venue, and the conservatory leaks which is not good makes the room damp when raining. it wasnt cold in there but there is lots of space at the venue. also plenty of players in the billingshurst league would be willing to help with the table. even a few moderators would take a trip to help as its a lovely venue.
i might not like to live there as it says speed limit 15mph where elderly live i was shocked i was expecting 5mph :)

Thanks Ros. Yes Tommo I picked up Mr Jobbins about 5 mins late :(
Good night at The Railway & the match went to the last. Dun Horse 3 Alfold Club 2
Sparky 3430 Malcolm Greening 1510 Paul Jobbins 3370 Gary Fishburn 880 Iang 1590 Robin Burgess 2270 Ian/Paul 1700 Clifford Greening/R.Burgess 1920 Sparky/Ros 2330 Gary Fishburn/Dave Slater 1450 Having taken an early lead the Horse lost the next 2 legs as Alfold Club battled hard to force the decider. We are planning a refurbishment soon, so perhaps we can identify another suitable spot for it. Once done I will put out a call for experienced players to help set it up correctly. As for the 15 MPH speed limit, some of our guys do faster than that on their buggies, so we are really trying to give some of the drivers a chance ;D
