Good luck to ALL the teams, it seems really strange to read about it and NOT be involved....
Extra special luck to MasterBateup's team, go for it Adam, stick to your principals and gain some good scalps.

Last Night the Hurst A lost away to the CKRBL 3-2.
The new Skipper played himself first to show the rest of the team what the table was up to but unfortunatly no one had there note books and pens with them apart from Mr Roy Wells.

A. Hall (1630) 3020 M. Coles (2290) 4000

last nite the brewers bravos won agianst the plough. was a very good night and was enjoyed by all. it was unfortunate for dez's team due to most of my team playing of h's and f's and most of his team playing on b's and c's. dez gason lead off agianst me but sruggled on the table as did i, but i managed to stick a 1000 break in there and took the match. geoff parson was up next agianst the long blond haired wizard steve dudman who to be honest played pretty pants but still took the match. next up in the doubles was dez and dan webber agianst my to lovly new girls keri brown and nikki hinkins. being new to the game they both play fantasticly to the surprise of a struggling dan and dez and took the 3rd. next up was geoff and mark webber to be playing russle jennings and mr.spud. it was a slow start but then out of the blue mark banged in a 2000 break which he swiftly went to peg and lose it. after this it was easy for russ and spud to go on to win the 4th altough in the end was very close. last up was what i thought to be one of my better new players dave swinbank to play the young dan webber. dan went of with a modest break and dave could not get mojo down which left dan to to play his best game since he started last season and beat the pants out of dave winning the 5th. overall everyone had a good night and the food went down a treat.
adam bateup 4450 dez gason 2620 steve dudman 2770 geoff parson 2440 nikki hinkins+ dan webber+ keri brown 4020 dez gason 860 russle jennings+ mark webber+ richard spurrier 2690 geoff parson 2490 david swinbank 2430 dan webber 3780 4-1
all the best bravoXX

Roy has now provided a write-up for all the games played. Here is the extract for those two results not previously mentioned:
Watermill A 3 Sportsman 2 Ros's Nomads, now esconced in the Sportsman at Goddards Green, visited the newly-promoted Watermill A. The home side got off to a good start with singles wins for John Willis and new boy John Staplehurst. Honours even after the doubles with Pam Peacock partnering Rob Driver to take the third, and Mr & Mrs Appleby winning well in the fourth. Last season's bright boy, Chris Nikolaj showed he's still got the form by taking the final singles leg and the match for the Watermill.
St Francis 1 Windmill 4 Another up/down confrontation as newly-promoted Saints entertained Hurst's fellow relegates, Windmill. The visitors started very well, with Lynne Storr winning the first leg and Peter Hinkins taking the next (- haven't we met another Hinkins at Bravos ?) Lynne then teamed up with Jan Hinkins to win the first of the doubles and secure the win for Windmill. Ray Fogwill joined Chris Little to avoid the brush by winning the fourth but the last leg went to Jan Hinkins, and her team finished the week at the top of the table.
Pool 1 - Bravos 1/1, 4pts; Watermill A 1/1, 3pts; Greyhound 0.5/1, 2.5pts; White Horse 0.5/1, 2.5pts; Sportsman 0/1, 2pts; Plough 0/1, 1pt; Hurst B 0/0, 0pts.
Pool 2 - Windmill 1/1, 4pts; CKRBL 1/1, 3pts; Hurst Club 0/1, 2pts; St Francis 0/1, 1pt; Handcross Z 0/0, 0pts; Droops 0/0, 0pts; Watermill B 0/0, 0pts.

This match, postponed from 05/09/2007 was played tonight (02/01/2008)
A spirited Watermill B side took full advantage of having all the breaks on a beautifully-prepared table ;D , and, in spite of a spirited effort by Johnny Haigh in the decider, turned over the Zeds. We have to do it all over again next week as the teams have been drawn against each other in the Team Plate at St Francis.
Game 1 margo(1900) 2560, Paul Blackburn (2660) 4200
Game 2 tommo( scr.) 6520, Martin Range (2660) 3660
Game 3 MrMike007 & tommo (scr.) 5850, Sabina Williams & Gavin Boyd (2660) 3760
Game 4 Johnny Haigh & margo (1140) 2060, Nigel Orme & Tony Williams (2660) 3400
Game 5 Johnny Haigh (1140) 3730, Tony Williams (2660) 4310
Result: Handcross 'Z' 2, Watermill 'B' 3 - They are a new team in our League, so well done to them.
