Handcross Z 2 Brewers Droops 3
What a hard-fought match !
After the first two singles frames had gone the way of the Z's, the Droops were looking decidedly flaccid. ;D
But Sir Jock'o'the Strap, who had only narrowly missed out in the second frame was able to excel in the third, running up the highest score of the evening.
The 'Z' captain (tommo) deviated from his original team selection to give Mr Mike007 (who had sparkled in game two) a further game and dropped himself. But a rampant Sparky drilled in two good performances for the Brewers to finish cock a' hoop, taking the match.
Scores Handcross Z 2, Brewers Droops 3 John Turner 4420, Andy Farmer-Wright 1880 Mick Holmwood 5750, Richard Jeffrey 4650 John Turner & Johnny Haigh 3350, Richard Jeffrey & Colin Humphrey 7220 Mick Holmwood & Barry Timson 2130, Graham Sparksman & Andy Farmer-Wright 3710 Alan Downs 2030, Graham Sparksman 5830

Greyhound 1 Watermill A 4
Some close games but well done Watermill A and a very pleasant evening.
Charity competition does not seem to suit the Greyhound but at least we will not lose next week - we have a bye.

Hurst B 2 White Horse 3 Hurst B played their first competitive match at their new home & put up a brave fight first win to Chris Kirkham who played brilliantly followed by a close match between Brian Coleman & Marion with Brian just edgeing out a lead but Marion also played well with level handicap's. White Horse took the next 2 doubles with Hurst unable to turn things round. final leg was a good battle between Dave Ingram & Darrell Skinner. if you forget the Black peg on both sides which saw Birthday boy Dazza make it 2 for the home side.

Write-up for the 'missing' result, and latest table, courtesy of Roy Wells:
CKRBL 3, Windmill 2 Clayton and Keymer wrested the lead in pool two from Windmill after beating them at home. Peter Hinkins put Windmill in the lead but CKRBL took the next three in a row to win the match. The second singles went to Jenny Edwards and both pairs to Ted Stringer with Paul Moyes-Robb, and Peter Edwards with Lynn Moyes-Robb. Windmill kept in close contact at the top when Steve Smith won a close last leg, and just matches won now separate the two sides.
And the table........... Team played won points Pool 1 Brewers Bravos 3 3 12 Watermill A 2 2 7 White Horse 3 1 6.5 Sportsman 3 1 6 Greyhound 3 0 5.5 Plough 2 1 4 Hurst B 2 0 4
Pool 2 CKRBL 3 2 8 Windmill 3 1 8 Watermill B 2 2 7 Brewers Droops 2 1 5 Handcross Z 2 1 5 St Francis 2 1 4 Hurst Club 2 0 3
