Sportsman 1 Hurst B 4 Yes at last we won a match. As tempory Captain for part timer Mr lear we had a briiliant evening at the Sporstman. For those yet to go there I can confirm that it is a great venue for Bar Billiards plenty of room & I hope the nomads will be happy there for a long time. Chris the lanlord provided a wonderfull spread enough to feed 2 Bar Billiard Matches I dont think charlady told him there was only 5 players on each side. Table played well Stars of the night have to be Marion Skinner who saw off Mr A by over a 1000 not counting handicaps. Charlady who played a blinder in the final against Steve King & only narrowly lost 4570 to 4840 also played well in the second singles. & finally Dazza who knocked in a 4K break in the 3rd. A very enjoyable evening & I cant wait to go back. :) :) Ian.

Brewers Droops 2 v CKRBL 3.
Sorry Ian only had time to put up result and do not remember all the details except that the Kleiners took the first 2 singles then the Droops took the next 2 doubles leaving Sparky to be well beaten by Pete Edwards, who played the table very well, for the match.
Maybe someone else can fill in the details.......Jock?

Now I'm confused. There seems to be a difference of oppinion as you say the Kleiners won 3 2 but Jan/Roy in report number 4 & the table shows The droops winning 3 2 ?? did you have too much again sparky ? Ian.

Sorry chaps
My tardyness shows no bounds at the moment, I forgot to send in the bloody scorecard as well.
Result was Brewers Droops 3 Kleiners 2
Match 1 saw a struggling Andy FW taking on the Kleiners newbie Mark 'shakey' Coles. Shakey was steady throughout the game managing to stay in front of Andy who went on a bit of a peg fest in the fist half of the game, Andy rallied but too little too late. Shakey was very impressive dispatching Andy with some good open break building. Andy FW 2130 Mark 'shakey' Coles 4860
Match 2 and it was my turn into the fray, taking on my wee friend Jenny Edwards, having just over a 1000 on the handicap over me she added a few hundred on her opening break, I got the break back and slipped in 1600+ to draw evenish, Jen then went on one of those little tours we all have, with having 3-4 visits with no score, I finally won through with another break back shot and pushed another 2k+ in to bring the tie even. Sir Jock 4220 Jenny Edwards 3700
Match 3 Brought the Lewis doubles champions myself and Colin 'noddy' Humphrey up against Mark 'shakey' Coles and Ted 'the bear' Stringer. With only 300 over us on the handicap it was vital for Mark and Ted to get away to a good start Mark led of on the opening break with about 1500+ Noddy gave me the reply and I got the break back in two shots slipping a further 3000+ in and Ted followed with not very much noddy supported well with breaks of 500 and 600 with shakey by far being the danger player, but we held them off with a final 1000+ from myself to win the match. Sir Jock/Noddy 6470 Teddy Bear/Shakey 3380
Andy Fw paired up with sparky for the final doubles against husband and wife team Pauland Lyn Moyes Robb, can't remember much of the match to be honest Andy played solidly getting over his peg fest in game 1, sparky caught the peg bug knocking over just as he got comfortable on around 600+. Paul and Lyn both played well but experience won out in the end. Andy FW/Sparky 4080 Paul/Lyn MR 2060
And onto the last Sparky talking on Peter 'fat eddie' Edwards, and to be totally honest and fair the fat man romped it, showing just how good a player he can be, strong breaks of 3000+ and 2000 I think. Sparky struggled continuing the peg fest started by Andy in game 1. Peter breezed the win. Although sparky fought hard but just couldn't get anything going, when he finally did it was all over, bad luck sparks!!! Sparky 1660 Fat Eddie 6050
A good match, that could have gone either way in all honesty. Some good solid break building, not only on the break play either, some good scoring done in open play. Mark 'shakey' Coles in particular stood out for me, a quality snooker player and his rapid adaption to the quirkiness of bar billiards was brilliant, a real 'find' for the kleiners!!!! As always the banter was light hearted and full of fun, great to see to good teams playing on a good table having good fun!!!!!
Cheers

Write-up for the 'missing' results, and latest table, courtesy of Roy Wells :
Watermill A 3, Brewers Bravos 2 Bravos remain on top of pool 1 despite suffering their first defeat away to Watermill A. Adam Bateup must have been feeling good about his sides chances as he took the first singles and Dave Swinbank the next. All change as the home side’s John and Nick Staplehurst take the first of the pairs followed by Big Norm and Kim Stenning. Two legs each and all to play for in the last which went comfortably to Chris Nikolaj
White Horse 3, Plough 2 White Horse took the first three legs of their home tie against Plough to move them up into second place. Colin Mansfield won comfortable in the first, Giles Garnett not quite so in the second. These two then joined forces to win the first of the pairs, Consolation for Plough as they took the last pairs, thank to Geoff Parsons and Malcolm Fuller who then went on to win the last leg and keep the score respectable.
Windmill 0, Watermill B 5 Watermill B take the lead in pool 2 after an emphatic win away at the Windmill. The first singles went the way of Paul Blackburn and Martin Range. Gavin Boyd with Sabina Williams followed by Paul Blackburn and Tony Williams took the pairs and Steve Larkwell topped off the teams’ performance in the last. And it had all been going so well for Windmill.
And the table........... Team played won points Pool 1 Brewers Bravos 4 3 14 White Horse 4 3 10.5 Watermill A 3 3 10 Hurst B 3 1 8 Sportsman 4 1 7 Plough 3 1 6 Greyhound 3 0 4.5
(NB. Adjustment now made to Greyhound v White Horse from week 1)
Pool 2 Watermill B 3 3 12 CKRBL 4 2 10 Brewers Droops 3 2 8 Windmill 4 1 8 St Francis 3 2 7 Handcross Z 2 1 5 Hurst Club 3 0 5
