Handcross Z are off to a reasonable start, against a gallant Windmill team which featured three ladies:
Handcross Z 4, Windmill 1.
tommo 4640, Lynn Storr 730 mrMike007 4560, Steve Smith 1740 Johnny Haigh 1660, Ann Stockinger 720 Barry Timson 7910, Jenny Arnold 80 Alan Downs 2430, Mike White 2970
Excellent evening against very friendly opposition. Q should note that Mike White, who lives in Cornwall, was able to make the effort: Janie says that an air ticket one-way from Newquay to Gatwick is just £24. ;D

Greyhound 2 Watermill B 3
Well done the newcomers a great start.
Oh dear! My three team mates from the Lewes league standing in for our missing regulars all managed to hit black pegs. Hope they play better on monday.

No comments it was a rubbish match, I myself in particular couldn't hit a barn door even if it had been slammed in my face!!!

Hurst B 3 V hurst A 2
It was a hotly contested match which saw all 5 legs go against the break A very close first between Dazza & Roy saw Dazza get going at the end with a timely break. second was Steve King V BBR saw Kevin win 1 all. John Lear made it 2 - 1 against Andrew. 4th up Iang V father Hall I didn't do enough on the first break or the second to match father Hall's experienced potting. 2 all. The 5th saw new boy Dave Ingram's debut for the Hurst team but Chris Kirkham wasn't going to be put off & kept his head down to take the win.

No information available as to winners and scores etc from the Watermill A's home victory over White Horse, but here is what Roy says about the Plough - Sportsman match :
Plough 4, Sportsman 1 Sportsman were away to the Plough and started well with a win from their skipper Ros Appleby. Then it all went the way of the Plough side as they took the next four legs with wins for Malcolm Fuller, Mark Webber, Geoff Parsons and Des Gasson. Geoff’s low 2420 was the best for the home side while Ros’s 2260 was tops for the visitors.
And the opening table :
Team played won points
Premier Division CKRBL 1 1 6 Plough 1 1 5 Watermill A 1 1 5 Handcross Z 1 1 5 Hurst B 1 1 4 Greyhound 1 0 2 St Francis 1 0 2
Division 1 Watermill B 1 1 5.5 Droops 1 1 5.5 Hurst Club 1 0 3 Sportsman 1 0 1.5 White Horse 1 0 1.5 Windmill 1 0 1.5 Bravos 1 0 0
