Sparky beat Mr A tonight.
After two close fought legs at the Sportsman which both went Sparky's way, the players went over to the Brewers to play the second half.
Sparky chose tonight to get to grips with the table there - with a final score of 9690 - well played Graham 8-)

Thank you Ros and it was a shame that it was my former team mate and friend Sir Trevor to cop it but still I am pleased to finally get to grips with that top.

Colin Mansfield beat John Lear 3-0 tonight.
Both players had chances to win during the first 2 games on a good table at the Hurst Club, with Colin taking his opportunities well. The 3rd game, at the White Horse, was also close as both Colin and John struggled to adapt to the slower table, with Colin just edging the game mid-way through thanks to some good play at the back of the table.

I beat Roy Wells 3 - 1 tonight.
I don't have exact scores, but I think the first game at the Sportsman was about 3k to 2.3k, with me retrieving the break just at the end to play the table out for the win. Second game Roy set off with a respectable 1600 break, I struggled up to about 500, but then got a 4,670 break that put that game into the bank. Final score on that game about 5.5k to 2.5k
So then to Hurst 2 - 0 up, the Hurst pockets were not taking prisoners, so it was always fairly likely the games were going to go with the break - and they did. Roy took the first at around 2.5k to 1k, and I took the second with something like 3k to 2k.

Yes, well done Ros, a good patiently played match, you took the chances when they were offered to you, and I didn't. A well deserved win and the best of luck in the next round.

Paul Beat me in 3 straight games last night.
Ian Paul 3910 6620 3530 6450 2830 7570
I kicked off with only 1300 in the first giving skippy plenty of time to get the break back & over take me, Next was his break & I came to the table 4K down & fought hard.
next leg was Paul's first break on his home top ( Hurst) again we both kept the table reasonably clean but Paul retreived the break at least 4 times. Well played Paul & good luck in thr next round. Ian. :'(

I beat Peter Burchell 3-1 tonight.
1st game at the Brewers where I went off with only 3k but Peter couldn't reply and after we chased a few balls I won with 4k+. 1-0.
2nd game Peter got 2k+ and I won with 7k+ (aggregate 10k) 2-0. Table played much better than last night's match.
3rd game at the Greyhound Peter won with 5/6k (not sure) and I only got a couple of thousand but had a go at the break so..... 2-1.
4th game I made decent break and won with 5k 3-1. This good top deserved better scores from us 8-).
Good evening and company with thanks to Peter and Neil (who scored :D).
