I live in Holmfirth, near Huddersfield West Yorkshire and last month purchased a BB table having never played the game before. Tables and opponents are few and far between around here and I'm not adversed to being shown how the game is played by someone who knows how. For what it's worth I got a 1750 break (ok you can stop laughing now), so I'm hardly a force to be reckoned with, but I may just be the best player in my village unless you know otherwise.

Hi, I live in Elland and have been exiled up here for 7 years now, I played BB for 30 years in Surrey and was the singles champion in 1999, would love to get in touch and give you some tips on playing the game and table maintenance if nes.

Great, Martin comes recommended, and was a Surrey county player.
Would be great to hear news from Yorkshire from time to time, and also to know if you guys know of any venues we have missed (or which no longer apply) on the map on the AEBBA Site. Our investigations show 11. 8-)

Your email address is in your profile that members can see.
I do not recommend you putting your phone number, if you wish top then make sure it's in the members' area.
Wished I'd been able to get a 1750 break within a couple of weeks!! took me ages to get my first 3k

An easier way David, would be to PM the details to Martin
BTW I'm another person marooned in a virtually bar billiard-less world, but at the opposite end of the country ;D

Tried emailing you Martin though the email failed and came back, is your email address correct or maybe I've got problems at my end. Can you try emailing me. Cheers

Yay to that. Martin, you have your normal invite to the Redhill One-Day Inter-League on the 7th May. (And of course it's the 3rd Surrey Open the next day). Some good experience for David too if he's up for it. ;)

Hi guys, looking forward to my lesson tomorrow, don't think home advantage will make much difference, come to think of it don't think it will make much difference which end of the cue Martin uses either, I'll give it a go and pick up some tips in the process.

Dave has a nice Jelkes table which would not be out of place in any league it plays very well, he dosn't need much coaching either he has the break shot nailed and after some advise on the one up and split was getting to grips with them too, wont be long before he starts hitting some reasonable breaks, he beat me in a couple of games until my cue arm warmed up a bit. I enjoyed my time there and hope to do it again sometime soon and then he can give me a right thrashing.
