Windmill 3 Sportsman 2
With Mr A taken to his bed, we had to pull in every reserve available. A good happy evening with very close games. Excellent large bridge rolls, well stuffed with ham, cheese or tuna mayo.
Steve Smith 0 Ros 2530 Jan Hinkins 1110 Gordon Brett 1020 Lynne Storr 1110 Garry Iles 1370 Mike White 1880 Gary Foster 1490 Russell Jennings 1430 Pam Peacock 780

Handcross Z 0, CKRBL 5This was the quote from the last home match: Handcross Z 5, Watermill A 0 Handcross table still not right, but the home team made the most of whatever luck was going on the night. We knew we'd had a rather dodgy 5-0 without playing particularly well, and now it's a case of from the sublime to the ridiculous, two things however remaining the same - not playing particularly well (not one of us could find the break !) and the H/X table still not being right. Captain is to blame of course, not allowing sufficient time to test it properly, tested balls into 20s, 30s and 50s and left it at that. Opposing captain did the same with the balls I had left in the tray, so no arguments. So why when it looks so good is it such a pig ? I can only presume that the rain affects it. This is not to take anything away from Clayton & Keymer, who bludgeoned their way to a superb victory, Jenny especially overtaking JT as the bar fell, and causing him to go for the 200 with the inevitable result. MrMike007 1720, Shaky Coles 4440 Johnny Haigh 2240, Pete Edwards 3320 Barry Timson 1730, Derek Taylor 5110 John Turner 0, Jenny Edwards 2410 tommo 2360, Ted Stringer 2990 Someone have a word with Shaky please about bar billiards etiquette - it's bad enough standing in the way of the opponent each time when it's his turn at the table, but to request a vodka and coke afterwards as well is adding insult to injury..............

A couple more results for you Tommo, although I haven't got the individual scores.....
Watermill B 2 White Horse 3 Hurst A 3 Watermill A 2
I'm sure that the BB Reaper will put in the scores and match report so will just say that it was a good close match at the Hurst Club......

Brewers Droops 3 Hurst B 2
Richard Jeffrey 1890 Darrell Skinner 1740 :) 1-0 I was behind most of the match in this one, a very scrappy affair with me messing up the break several times.
Lorraine Hall 240 Steve King 8980 :'( great display from Steve hitting big with a 6070 break to take the tie to 1-1. :)
Colin Humphrey 1790 Chris Kirkham 2970 :'( Birthday boy just couldn't pull it together quick enough in this one, getting the break back to late on in the game to matter then missing his one up anyway, Chris played well and never really looked like losing. 1-2 :)
Andy Farmer 4970 John Lear 760 :) Andy played a captains game in this one good solid scoring against a struggling granpa lear. 2-2 :'(
Graham Sparksman 1150 ian Giffen 100 :) :) heartbreaker of a game this one, Ian played superbly (bad back and all) throughout and had Graham well beaten, the tie and match won, then the bar dropped and Ian played a ball up the left center hit his object ball toooooooo thin and cue ball shot back and black pegged him. Heartbreaker!!!! :'( :'( :'(
A great (if lucky) night for the droops, lots of fun and games, mostly from myself abusing the Hurst lot, but taken in good jest. unlucky guys. ;) ;)

Unlucky Ian for last night, you had the match won, but don't dwell on it. I'm sure it won't happen again.

The last pieces of the week's jigsaw puzzle, as provided by Roy Wells :
Hurst A 3, Watermill A 2 Watermill A stay in touch with the top group even after this away defeat to Hurst Club. John Staplehurst put the visitors in front but wins for the old fella and Dave Ingram put the hosts in front. Big Norm then put in a 5340 break to finish with 6560 and squared the match. Hurst’s Pete Hall hit big in the decider (5660) to move his team into clear second place in div 1
St Francis 4, Brewers Bravos 1 Saints hang on to bottom place despite this home win against Bravos. Shaun Morris and Chris Little banged in the first two frames but the brush was avoided by Adam Bateup who put in the best score of this match. Undeterred, Saints then bagged the last two with wins for Peter and Matt Geal.
Watermill B 2, White Horse 3 No change in the table for White Horse following their away win to Watermill Newboys but there are no match details available.
