Anyone heard anything about Bar Billiards Ltd. AKA Ascot Pool Ltd.
I'm heard on the grapevine (not through these circles) that they are in serious financial trouble.
Thankfully less of a threat to us now if it's true
Sav.

If this is the case, maybe we could get some equipment off them cheap ? Think you'll find it's too late for that. I believe most of what they had left in bar biliards spares was sold in bulk to one buyer. Sav

Bar Billiards Ltd are seeking a Company Voluntary Agreement with creditors in early March.
This means they are seeking to reach agreements over debts that would sink the company if not managed properly / deferred / or assets given in lieu.
Ken tells me they do have spares left though one major sale has been made and he has an offer for another large batch of clocks.
Clocks are still available to leagues for £100 plus VAT.
If you want spares it would be expedient to move now.

When you say "they" I presume you mean Bar Billiards Ltd, and NOT Tarratts.

When you say "they" I presume you mean Bar Billiards Ltd, and NOT Tarratts. Yes Bar Billiards Ltd [that gave me a shock too and I let out a big 'oh no!' thinking you meant Tarratts - so Bernie was right to point it out !]

According to details shown at Companies House, Bar Billiards Ltd entered into a "Voluntary Arrangement" on 8th March 2010, which technically means that they can still trade however they are clearly in severe financial difficulties...... :'(

Before there are too many votes of sympathy, possibly however we are looking at an "new era" as a new Company (Bar Billiards Leisure Ltd) was set up by the same director who owned Bar Billiards Ltd on 14th October 2011 and is listed as registered in Thrapston under Company Registration No 7809905. This new Company was registered 4 days after the old Company went into receivership.... sadly it is not unknown for Companies to re-invent themselves like this. :-X

Sad news indeed.
Anyone know if they have any stock going cheap? Maybe worth looking into with the administrators?

Re stock Mark, They were supposed to be moving premises last August and KT posted a thread around June to say no bar billiard stock was going with them and they were having a garage sale. The phone number is no longer recognised Sav [Edit] found it Here

I think they traded for a while as Ascot Pool ? :-/
Anyway, Mark, you've missed the boat as the last opportunity was this years Bucks Open. Ken put in a personal appearance, and some of us bought his last stock of cues and timers, strictly cash only. ;)
