There is however someone I could name in our league (but won't) who thinks he knows it all already and has only been playing a year and has come from Pool. He managed to beat me on his own (difficult) top and stung me for an expensive drink. I also overheard him chatting at the bar, saying, "whatever sport I take up I just have to be the best." We shall see, but I can promise him that the next time I have to play him I shall be trying 200% ! ;) I'm pretty sure I know who you are talking about there Tommo and would agree that he is an arrogant little wotsit.....!! >:( ie. :'( Hey guys, yes he has returned from a little sabbatical into the world with no computer. Tommo and Dave yes I know who your on about and I agree wholeheartedly!!!!! I am partly responsible for introducing the wee t**t to the game, some people you just can't teach manners to. He will learn the hard way fortunately. >:( Why do I play, god knows!!!!! I enjoy it, I too am a former pool 'player' and to be fair without to much of the blowing of ones trumpet, I weren't too shabby!!!! Do I want to be No:1 HELL YEAH!!!! is it gonna happen GOD NO!!!!!! ha ha ha ha I'm just happy to play well win or lose. I know I know a few of you that know me have seen me throw the proverbial toys out the pram upon losing, in my defense its more to do with me being annoyed at playing crap than my opponent dishing out a spanking. :P :P :P :P Do I want to win trophies? Yes course I do!!!! I have several already and yes I want to add to them why not? ;) ;) :D :D :D They brighten an otherwise dull and boring mantle piece!!! :-* :-* Do I play for the social side of it? Well I think most of you out there that know me will answer that with a resounding YES!!!!!! Social monster that I am!!!!! I have met many people in the short few years that I have played and for the most part consider them all friends, there are no strangers in this game just friends we haven't beat yet. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Do I agree with the 'doing enough to win' argument with the newer players, No cause they usually stuffing me of the table hahaha. :o ;D ;D I been slaughtered enough thank you very much!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I'd rather stick 10k+ against any opponent than have them stick it to me any day. Better by a nice friendly lad like me rather than some arrogant t**t! ;) ;) ;) Considering the fact that I have managed this wondrous feat a mere twice in the 3-4 seasons I have played. Its not likely I be doing it all the time.8-) 8-) 8-) With that I is off for the much needed practice, that coveted No:1 spot may be a good few years of yet, but maybe I getting their, We don't all have the likes of KT to teach and guide us you know!!!! :-X :-X ;D ;D ;D

There's definitely a place in our noble game for a gentle, self-deprecating soul such as yourself, Jock, especially as you have now had a small taste of success in an Open (oh so close to the Plate Final at Sussex). You're canny enough to learn from the experience, and I hope you get another chance to go one better. ;)

Considering how rubbish I was against Big mark James in the opener of the main comp, I was just as gobwellsmacked to discover myself in the plate semi as everyone else, shame I let them all down tho. I learned from it tho and here's looking for more of the same!!
