To the honchair i can see your point of view ,but when i started learning the game i was only about 10 years old and got 10k or thereabouts pump into me so it shows you to try and show no mercy. You will only learn by this and hopefully succeed. :P :o ;D :D :D

No, you've spoiled it now, Honchair.
I did stick up for you earlier, but can't endorse your latest comments.
There is no finer sight than Sheardo rattling up 20k-plus, or Katie adjusting to whatever is required of a table and playing perfect shots for an entire twenty minutes.
To be the best, yes, you've got to be able to play any table, and to be deadly accurate, but when playing in Opens is concerned - where you must test out your own abilities by playing against the best - you have to be fast too.
At the Mermaid (Wessex) Open, I was scoring a game for Milhouse, and had one eye on FeedtheGoat playing on the next table. He rattled up 20k in no time at all and his arm was moving so fast all I could see was a blur.
These guys have brought the game to a new level, are selected to play for England, and rightfully so.

All true and highly commendable Tommo - not arguing with the level to which these guys have taken the game - it doesn't do it for me as a visual that's all/
Different world! AND - lest anyone get entirely the wrong idea, my own game has hit the heights of 10k breaks in practice; 10k games in competition. I's not jealousy either...
No offence meant. I get bored watching Alan Shaw in full flow - especially when on the receiving end ;)

The Romans B obviously took this result well and proved they can play the game and not be too downhearted , they beat the 3 Horseshoes (KTs team) in a cup match this week. This was played with even breaks rather than getting all breaks as in a league game.Well done the Romans.

I maintain that the best players are those who can score heavily and consistently anywhere - not just on their home table; regardless of who goes first I think 100% of people would agree! have you considered that the reason some people do not enjoy or look forward to visiting some locations because they know damn well that their opponents are going to spend the evening trying to outscore each other - when the point of the evening is simply to win the match. People who sound like that statement are generally jealous or shouldn't be playing at all. I believe that it is more enjoyable and competitive to compete with scores personally, I might be wrong though I do have a passion to play well! When will people accept that there are players who will thrash you once in a while? Ok not nice travelling a long distance to get thrashed, get over it and come back better! I have a question, Why do people think that great players ruin a night out for someone? If you go out for a laugh and a game then it shouldn't matter if you lose or win but you still have a laugh! johnny
