This one will probably be duplicated by Big Dave, but here goes anyway.
With nothing to play for, both teams at the bottom of Pool Two laid into each other and no prisoners were taken.
Hurstpierpoint 'A' 1, Handcross 'Z' 4
Game 1 Andy Hall 4740, tommo 8240 Game 2 Bob Hall 2780, Barry Timson 5620 Game 3 Father Hall & The Old Fella 4680, MrMike007 & Margo 5170 Game 4 BB Warrior & BB Reaper 3980, Barry Timson & tommo 6890 Game 5 BB Warrior 8960, Johnny 'Aceed' Haigh 2370
The table was superb, and the food (courtesy of BobHall) equally so.

Clive, as always, quick off the draw with the result.....!! ;)
Some high scoring games in an enjoyable evening with the standard far above the "Basement" positions that both teams started the evening in.
Tommo lead his troops from the front with a big opening score, followed up by another good hit from Barry. Mick & Margo then just edged out The Old Fella and Papa Hall in a closely fought 3rd game to win the match for the Zeds.
In the next doubles, the standard seemed to move up another gear.... Tommo hit another good break to start, the Reaper and Barry scored a few each. I hit a break of about 3k...... and then after a (too!) short interlude by Kevin I had plenty of time to sit and watch Tommo and Barry play the table while enjoying Rob's excellent sandwiches & nuggets....!! :o ;)
With John rather unlucky on occasions, at least I managed to get plenty of table time to restore a bit of home pride in the last! ;)
Well played the Zeds who gained a thoroughly deserved victory, with both teams clocking up a total of 43,800 points - after the handicaps were taken off! :o ;D
Having recently gone through some of the old table records, I have only found one other game that comes close to that, between the same 2 teams but played at Handcross in February 2006. Zeds scored 17,840 points and Hurst 25,560 making a total of 43,400....... although the Zeds won again 3-2 that night! :o :(

Greyhound take their first Charity cup win.
Paul Goodwin 3840 Chris Kirkham 5120 Jean Cook 3770 Marion Skinner 2350 Neil & Peter Burchell 5690 Steve King John Lear 5070 Jean & Hassan 3420 Darrell Skinner & Iang 5280 Trevor Rees 9860 Iang 1010 Well done to Trevor on an excellent 5680 break after I pegged 2000 going for a 50 20 shot after leaving the one up way too short.
Thanks to Hassan & the Greyhound team for the excellent hospltality. Ian.

Sorry, late with the match report here :o
Sportsman 2 White Horse 3
Garry Iles 2180 Colin Mansfield 5760 Gary Foster 2100 Brian Coleman 3170 Pam Peacock/Tony Driver 2980 Jim Quinn/Ben Dutson 2710 Ros and Trevor Appleby 2420 Colin Mansfield/Brian Coleman 5040 Rob Driver 3740 Ian Powell 2540
Colin was the man on fire, leaving little chance for his opponent to get to the table to take the first in style. Gary Foster retrieved the break in the opening minutes but unfortunately had a peg (rare for him) at 1500, Brian Coleman never looked back and cruised home quite comfortably. The first doubles was neck and neck all the way, Jim Quinn was left with the 200 shot to win, but was just out. Tony Driver put the ball away into the 100 to take the game. The second doubles saw man of the match Colin in action again, his opponents (and even his partner!) could do little except admire his steady accurate potting. The last game was a fairly comfortable win for Rob Driver.
Lots of good natured barracking, and congratulations to the Horse, not only for winning, but also for being the first team to help us to almost finish the food! 8-)
