From the horses (a White one) mouth that a certain much maligned Mid-Sussex table has had some major surgery by Tarratts......!! ;)
Apparently 3 new cushions, some pockets that fit correctly and a nice new cloth are now happily positioned on a level table at (Tommo's) "Unicorn without a Horn"....... :o
Personally, I look forward to going down there and trying it out. Hopefully, it will be a great improvement... and I can't wait to see the expressions on some of the home players faces!! ??? ;)
Watch this space for a practice session report......... ;D

................that a table might be going back in the Windmill, Gossops Green, Crawley.
One of my teammates 'in the know' who still uses the pub occasionally overheard a conversation where the new landlady was thinking of ways to improve trade and thought having bar billiards there might be a good idea.
So one minute there was the prospect of no Windmill (see Big TJ's thread), now we could have two !
Watch this space for developments.
Good news about the hornless Unicorn, Warrior, although we don't visit until the very last away match of the season, by which time playing conditions will have had the chance to get back to 'normal'. ;D

........ and I can confirm that the original rumour is true! ;D
Having had a couple of knock around games there last night, I'm pleased to say that the White Horse now have a lovely table! :o
New baize, cushions and pockets have turned it into a table that is a pleasure to play on and I would expect to see some big scores coming in from there in the future.
The only thing that I could say against it (if I wanted to be really critical) would be that it's still pretty slow around the 50 holes, but the break, one up and split shots are all easy once you adapt to the pace of the table. ;D ;D
My only hope is that it will be well maintained in the future, not easy I know in a pub where a lot of non-League players enjoy bashing the balls around with no real consideration for the table. ::) >:(

Well, the original Jolesfield Windmill, after which the the Littleworth pub is named, rather bizarrely stands in the grounds of the Gatwick Manor Hotel at Crawley. Then there are the Jack and Jill Windmills that stand on the hills at Claygate, looking towards Brighton. And I have a stone windmill at the bottom of my garden, which is unfortunately minus its (plastic) sails. ::)
