The final week of Pool matches, with everything to play for...... even if it is only pride for some of us!! ;)
Pool 1 Hurst B v Brewers Bravos White Horse v Watermill A Plough v Greyhound Sportsman - Bye
Bravos top the Pool and are the only team to have already qualified for the semi-finals. Watermill A need only 1 point to qualify, but must win 2 more legs than the Bravos if they want to top the Group. White Horse must beat Watermill A 5-0 (on their new table!) if they want to qualify instead of them. Neither the Plough or Hurst B can make it.
Pool 2 CKRBL v Handcross Z Brewers Droops v Hurst A Watermill B v St Francis Windmill - Bye
Watermill B top the Pool, but still have to win at least 2 legs to be sure to make the semi-finals. Their opponents, St Francis, have to beat them 4-1 to be certain to go through, although they would also qualify if they win and the Droops lose to Hurst A. The Droops would qualify if they win 2 more legs than St Francis and the Zeds could mathematically still make it if they won 5-0 at CKRBL and both the Droops and St Francis lost.
Well, that certainly makes the possible options as clear as mud...!
Anybody care to tip who the semi-finalists will be after next week......?? ;)

My money is on the Greyhound being bottom of pool one.
Looking forward to a relaxed evening at the Plough with nothing to play for this time, next visit could be different.

I think that we will probably also prove to be the strongest team (holding everybody else up!) in the other Pool, even if we manage to beat the Droops tonight......!! ;) :'(
Never mind, next time we play there in a couple of weeks time it will be a top of the table clash..... and a "proper" match! ;D

I have just noticed that last week Hurst b put king Lear on for the third game. Can I suggest you try and find some younger players and take the comp a bit more seriously.

Result from tonight : CKRBL 4, Handcross 'Z' 1
A mixture of good and bad performances - and indifferent too ! The scores were very good despite the short bar for the first four games. John Turner continued in his purple patch, and in the last game the spoils went to Derek thanks to a superb 5k break. Derek and Barry meet again tomorrow at the Hurst Club for a Singles match.
Ted Stringer 4930, Alan Downs 3730 Peter Edwards 4430, MrMike007 2110 Jenny Edwards & Mark Coles 2510, John Turner & Margo 6100 Peter Edwards & Ted Stringer 3710, tommo & Barry Timson 1740 Derek Taylor 7720, Barry Timson 4050
Well done the Clayton & Keymer. Nice food. And tommo won the football card. ;D ;D ;D

Some interesting results last night......!!
Congratulations to the 4 semi-finalists, especially the 2 new teams (Brewers Bravos and Watermill B) who have reached this far in their first season in the Mid-Sussex League.
I'm sure that there will be some good games next Wednesday (and plenty of banter I would imagine! ;)) and at least we know one thing for certain about the final.......
It will be played between the Brewers and The Watermill......!!
Good luck to all 4 teams next week.

Semi-finals : Bravos v Droops at The Watermill Watermill B v Watermill A at The Brewers No possible arguments about venues there, then. 8-) The committee can breathe a well-earned sigh of relief !
