Could somebody give me the address and post code for Alford SC??? Thank you You'll find a picture, address and postcode on this page, TJ: www.billingshurstbarbilliards.co.uk/page2.htmlTake the A281 Horsham to Guildford Road; The road undulates, goes up and down like a switchback. And it's double white lines most of the way so seems to go on for ever ! Eventually the road will swing broadly round to the left as you reach Alfold Crossways. Leave the main road here via a little link road and you will see a road running parallel to the main road. Choose right and a very short way down on the left you will see the entrance to the club and a long drive leading down to it. Good luck ! tommo

Good luck ! tommo Hi Tommo I haven't been to Alfold SC anywhere near as many times as you but doesn't the main road (A281) swing broadly round to the RIGHT when travelling from A24 direction, so then pull off to the LEFT and immediately turn/keep to the right, as you say, but your directions are great if coming from Guildford ;D :P Hope this helps TJ 8-)

As I said, it's a broad sweep to the left, after passing the Alfold Barn. The main road does indeed as you say then cut back sharply to the right at Alfold Crossways and this is where you get off.
The marker on our AEBBA map is wrong, by the way and I'll have to get that changed as it's on the wrong side of the road.
So to recap, road sweeps left, get off on to the sliproad before it sweeps right. On the parallel road, choose right (left will take you down to Alfold village). A short way along, look for a drive/towpath on your left. Ignore the first building on your left along the drive, carry on down and you'll see the club before you.

Hi Not sure if the guys/gals are traveling from Brighton or Worthing, either way I would consider the A27 onto A283, cut through to A24 take this road and come off for Ashington, pick up B2133 for Billinghurst. Follow this road to Adversane (There is a staggered cross roads which you go straight over before Adversane) At Adversane (after Railway Crossing). Go straight across, at end turn left onto A272 for Petworth, after 200 meters over a river bridge and take first right onto B2133 (Again). Follow this road all the way through Loxwood into the village of Alfold. Continue to the end take the first left at Mower Shop (not onto A281) then first left into Alfold Village Hall, Club at the bottom of playing fields. Obviously it is horses for courses, and the directions provided may confuse, but its simple enough as I use this route on a regular basis and find it quicker and more direct than the alternatives. Obviously you can ignore me as many do, but I look forward to seeing the two teams at the club tonight. Trevor

If TJ is coming up from Littlehampton, he might find it shorter to use the A284/A29 towards Wisborough Green/Billingshurst and then the B2133 up to Alfold, rather than heading over to Horsham I have to give the disclaimer here that I have never been to the Social Club, but their website is alfoldclub.co.uk/index.htmTheir postcode is tucked away at the bottom of the home page - GU6 8JB Their phone number (I won't quote it here) and a good map are both on their 'Contact' page. I think I can see the location quite clearly on Google maps satellite view (but not map view) - just after the turning into Dunsfold Road on the left (Google maps has it a bit further down Dunsfold Road) This matches tommo's description of the two buildings down a driveway.

Railway 1 Dun Horse 4 Mick Clack 5860 Adam Bateup 750 Some great play from Mick & Adam never really settled Adam Kuzimski 1540 Sparky 6040 Graham capatlised on a good start & played the table well Mark Davies 2720 Paul Jobbins 5140 Paul also took a liking to the table Mark/ Mike Cork 2420 Sparky/Adam 2900 A bit closer this one but enough to take the all important 3rd leg Mick/Adam 2070 Paul/Iang 2400 Another close leg. Strange that result was the same as Last years final also played at Southwater.
Great night with the Railway lads who I think were missing the trains on a few occasions ;D ;)
Thanks to Tony & Barbara for the nice sarnies.
So Dun Horse go into their 4th plate Final. 8-)

LAUGHING FISH (ISFIELD) 2 V 3 ROFFEY BB AT STOUT HOUSE Your roving reporter was out and about on the night and can tell you something about the drama involved in this match, in which basically the Fish grabbed defeat out of the jaws of victory. Frame 1. Jim Millward v Bob Hall. A solid performance from Jim, with both players being caught out at some stage by the roll to the left hand fifty hole. Bob rallied at the end but had left himself too much to do. Frame 2. Dave Ingram v Jim Greensted. Jim looked out of sorts and Dave eventually got going and had about 5k going when the bar went early after about 12 minutes. He put another coin in and carried on for another 2 or 3 k whereupon Jim conceded. Frame 3. Dave Knight v Pete Edwards. Pete had to win this one to keep his side in it, and knuckled down well to the task with a good 5k. So 2-1 to the Fish at this stage with two sets of doubles to come. And suffice it to say that here the Roffey BB came through on the stand rails thanks to a combination of a bad kick on the break and some big breaks lost by their opponents, plus the Silver Fox rediscovering his form right at the end when it mattered. An interesting match to watch, played in a good spirit, and the Laughing Fish very sporting in defeat.
