Greyhound 3 Droops 2
Neil Burchell 2180 Richard Jeffrey 2960 Paul Goodwin 2890 Fred Jones 1570 Trevor Rees 5970 Lorraine Hall 3230 Peter Burchell 4260 Colin Humphrey 1020 Geoff Fairs 1900 Andy Farmer-Wright 5880
A scrappy first game with Jock getting the break back near the end to snatch the win. The next three games and win to the Greyhound. Lorraine let me in after 1000 and I managed a 5k break, she came back strongly at the end but too late. Peter went off with 3900 and for the first few shots nothing would go for Colin. Geoff had his usual luck of the draw with Andy in good form to take a second game for the Droops.
As usual a very pleasant evening in good company.

Would be interested to hear the BB Warrior's angle on the match but he said "After you Claude" so here goes:
Just look at these opposition scores, all over 3k (from a lower Div side) and tell me the Handcross is not a good table !
Handcross Z 2, Hurst A 3
Graham 'Supersub' Daniels 8150, BB Warrior 3380 Johnny 'Aceed' Haigh 3120, Boball 4920 Alan Downs 1640, The Old Fella 3020 tommo 7000, Papa Hall 3550 MrMike007 2530, BB Reaper 5040
A really enjoyable match spent in terrific company. Unlucky to both the BB Warrior and Papa Hall, each of whom made the early running in their games, and a pat on the back for Boball for maintaining recent form with a great game of just under 5k. 8-)
And a 'first' of the season for Handcross was also registered tonight - no sandwiches were left over, as the Hurst not only polished off their own but the remains of our plate as well ! ;D Good to see, lads, I hate to see them go to waste. 8-)

We lost tonight. Must mention Bob Ellis. Came back after many years to help us in our season of need. Got his first league victory of the season and took a fine scalp (big Norm). Plays to win, does not whinge, buys his round, my player of the year. Thespecialone.

Brewers Bravos 3 Sportsman 2
Paul Moyes-Robb 1140 Rob Driver 2220 Richard Spurrier 1970 Tony Driver 1650 Adam Bateup 2100 Gary Foster 1450 Lynne Moyes-Robb 1040 Sir Trevor 290 Dave Swinbank 200 Ros 3070
Hard luck to Tony who lost on the last (red) ball. Tart points to Sir Trevor who threw away a 2.5k score by knocking over the black.
Taking nothing away from the Bravos, who played very well to take the win, I have to say that the table was absolutely abysmal tonight. I believe that far too many people have been much too polite about it so far this season.
However, the company and the food were both very good, so a good fun evening was had.

Nothing wrong with being polite Ros. beats the crap out of grizling. Thegrumpyone I think there is everything wrong with being polite when those same people grizzle about other tables - including yours, which I will hold my hand up and say I have never found that bad!

Would like to thank Handcross Z for last night. It has been by far the best Wednesday evening i have had this Season. I am not sure i have laughed so much.
A lovely table Tommo, keep up the good work. And not forgetting a lovely spread of Sarnies.
Well done to my team and well played again Bobhall.

I would echo the comments by the Reaper and Tommo....... a very enjoyable evening and the table greatly improved since we played at Handcross earlier in the season! :)
Some good close games and decent scores, well done to Bobhall and the Old Fella for their wins and Captain Kev who kept his nerve well to win the decider and stretch our winning run to 6 consecutive League matches and extend our lead at the top of Division 1.....!! ;D ;D
Kevin's win also puts him at the top of the Division 1 players list, overtaking myself who was on the receiving end of a masterclass on how to play the Handcross table by "supersub" - great game from Graham, a pleasure to watch - even if I would have preferred to watch a bit less!! ;)
As for the sarnies....... we were happy to oblige! :)

And as we were the losing team it wasn't up to us to send in the result although I did hear Colin & Brain talking about how to do it .

Thanks BBW for the post. it's fair to say we struggled with both John & myself unable to get the break back lots of balls whipping out & stuff.
Plenty of time yet we will be back.
