Greyhound 2 Hurst Club 3
Neil Burchell 3770 - 840 Papa Hall Pete lost his opening break of just under 4k, Neil was quick to take advantage making his score in a couple of visits to the table. 1-0 :(
Paul Goodwin 3840 - 5120 BB Warrior Paul made a very solid start and was over 3k up with 12 minutes gone before I managed to get the balls back and play the table out - with a bit of luck along the way! 1-1 ;)
Trevor Rees 2730 - 5930 The Old Fella A solid 3.5k break gave Roy a useful lead, Trevor had chances to catch him but the balls didn't run for him. 1-2 :)
Peter Burchell 6700 - 1420 Bobhall Peter was always in control, even when he lost a 2k break fairly early on. Rob battled hard but Peter got the balls back again to knock in a well constructed 4k break. 2-2 :(
Geoff Fairs 1710 - 6790 BB Reaper Kev misjudged the pace of the table, leaving his first split shot short and Geoff built up a small lead, but once the Reaper had warmed up his scythe an excellent 5.5k break followed to secure the match. 2-3 ;D
8 wins on the trot now for the Division 1 leaders, many thanks to the Greyhound for such an enjoyable evening of competitive games. ;D

Yes, I was wondering about this momentous 3-3 draw too! ;D
Good luck tomorrow Kev 8-)
Here are the details of the Sportsman/White Horse mid table battle, a close one which they always are between our two teams.
Sportsman 3 White Horse 2
Tony Driver 1370 Giles Garnett 1940 Sir Trevor 1900 Ian Powell 1230 Ros 5090 Jim Quinn 1020 Pam Peacock 2040 Brian Coleman 1100 Gary Foster 1120 Colin Mansfield 2390
Particularly pleasing was to watch Pam display the form which all her team mates know she is capable of, with a fine opening break of 1250 (including several 100/30 splits) and careful steady play thereafter to keep control and win the match for us. :) Well done Pam! 8-)

Kev reckons he's having 2 snips, the whole world hates a showoff, mate.
So Hurst and Droops are level on 90 points. If you deduct the division one bonus points, Hurst would be on 75, 1 point off the top of the Premier, with Droops on 73, level third with Kleiners. Aren't we doing well ?
I still need a result of the Bravos v Newboys match, anyone heard ?
The rest : Plough 1 Droops 4 CKRBL 4 Saints 1 Hurst B 4 Windmill 1 Sportsman 3 White Horse 2 Greyhound 2 Hurst Club 3
played/won/points Premier Hurst B 19/15/76 CKRBL 19/13/73 Plough 19/13/71.5 Greyhound 19/12/68 Zeds 18/11/65 Watermill A 18/9/55 Saints 19/7/52
Div 1 Hurst Club 19/15/90 Droops 19/15/90 Sportsman 19/7/56 White Horse 19/6/51 Windmill 19/2/37.5 Bravos 18/4/37 Newboys 18/3/31.5

Moved from Jocks - week 20 post The Plough 1 Brewers 4
Brewers Continue to pressure Hurst with a great win over the Prem leaders The Plough.
Geoff Parsons 1100 Graham Sparksman 1240 Keith Potter 3200 Andy FW 3600 Malc Fuller 2240 Colin Humphrey 3270 Mark Webber 7140 Richard Jeffrey 550 Des Gasson 690 Lorraine Hall 2500
A great night with great company, top played well but really slow. Some good games here Ole Geoff never really got going at all against Sparky, who just did enough at the end to steal it.
Keith Went of strong against the Farmer boy but couldn't maintain it with Andy putting in a wining break at the end.
Match of the night for me was Malc against Noddy, neck and neck right till the end when Noddy got the break back and played the table to finish a worthy winner and give the Brewers the Victory.
Up to me then to continue the wining streak and I promptly lost. Mark played excellently with an opening break of 3870 and a further 2k+ shortly after put me down and out, mainly as every time I scored a point I promptly lost it again.
Mamma Hall and Des Gasson pretty much neck and neck with Des sneaking ahead by 1000 and promptly knocking over the black peg. Mama Hall stayed steady to take the tie.
Great food as always and big up Parsons Perfect Pickles, of which I had several covered in Chillies, lovely!!! And particular thanks for the Welsh rarebit with sweet chilli as well superb.
Well played my guys bad luck the plough.

nor can i mate. probably too much charm for them ;D and also to expensive to keep feeding. ;D ;D it is suprising how much food you can throw down a sore throat so you are out the same day. it was something along the lines of :- two sandwhiches (cheese & pickle, ham & tomatoe), 4 short bread biscutes, an almond cake and a passion & peach yogurt washed down with a litre of water and a glass of orange juice. all that in the space of half hour. I did also ask what was for the main course. 8-) Her answer was you have just had your tonsills out havent you? ??? ???
I will be back playing bar billiards in no time.

A huge relief that you're out of hospital so quickly.
Those special scythes they use at the special Hospital for Reapers are pretty sharp, and hopefully you didn't feel a thing. :o
You've been discharged at the right time with the weather picking up, now you have the perfect excuse for eating ice-cream. 8-)
See you soon,
tommo and margo x

The postponed Watermill A v Handcross Z match has been re-arranged for Monday 7th April. Well, this match went ahead tonight as planned, and the Zeds found the challenge of the difficult top just too much to handle. But it could have been so different: John Turner was coasting his game with 3k on the board when unaccountably he went too close to the black peg...........ouch ! Watermill A 3, Handcross Z 2 John Staplehurst 1620, tommo 1890 Chris Nikolaj 1920, John Turner 440 Adey Whyte 1790, Graham Daniels 2470 Kim Stenning 4170, MrMike007 3460 Norman Cragg 3120, Johnny Haigh 1490 One of these days Captain tommo is going to get MrMike007 a decent draw: for the second week running 007 has outscored all the opponents but for the one who beat him. >:( But well played to the Watermill, and the Zeds are grateful for the rearragement of the fixture which was performed with the minimum of ceremony.

Tommo's win moves him up to 7th place on the Individual Player List, just 1 win behind the current leader.
With 9 players on either 14 or 15 wins so far this season, it promises to be a very close final 7 weeks of the season...! 8-)
