Ball return tray support snapped off, tray removed and support reglued in place.
Tray support frame badly split underneath at front right, tray removed and split rail glued back together.

This one's in a right state, one side of the body is a half inch shorter than the other but the top is square, so there is an overhang on one side, they are probably an odd match. The top is hanging off the hinges and the slate has a full length crack.
That and the other problems mean that I cannot predict a satisfactory outcome to the repairs.
Cloth is quite good on it so I'll look at the structural repairs before deciding whether it is worth recovering it or just flogging it on.

Reason for it feeling like it's falling apart is the the hinge screws go into the gap between the body and the beading, gripping absolutely nothing. This is presumably because the top does not match the body, is too big and has beading on the back which would normally be hinge-bound. I cannot move the top forward as it's too big already, a mess.

Chris..
This sounds like the table I purchased from oxford last year.
It also seams there is an awful lot of work to do on a 'cannibalized table' so my view is to leave well alone and maybe sell at a later date.

That's partly why I removed this section from non members eyes 'slighly' early ;D ;D I've repaired and strengthened the hinging, but the playing surface is well pissed, will make the decision tomorrow after a fresh look. Lot of time spent on this one!!
In addition;
Top was sitting on the lock, not left hand corner so pivoting, locking mech repositioned.
Left hand rail convex, right hand rail concave, wedges inserted.
Second brace put across slate and first brace readjusted.
Problem still remains in the full length crack in that the slate is displaced by a few thou across the crack, it never will be perfect. Cloth is not bad, though slow compared with the new stuff, I have not recovered it so that we can see how it plays, fast cloth would make any rolls worse, so no point unless table is OK.
