I'm looking at two of the tables
1) The extra one that Dave bought to replace the damaged table
This has a uneven repair to a full length longitudinal crack, The slate needs bracing either side of the repair. I've braced the front end and need to brace the far end. It's much better now and is at Reading, I hope to finish it at the Surrey weekend.
2) The table that has had a major trauma at an unknown time. Slate is a right mess with a 'Y' crack from the 'D' to close to the 200 hole and then to both fifties. This means the slate is in three pieces and sags in two directions which makes a perfect repair unlikely. Ivor Champion at Bar Billiards Kent has no slates and I'm waiting for a reply from Mario in case he still has any.
I've put out an inquiry to several slate manufacturers in case I can source a batch, but we would probably have to buy several, which might not be a bad idea for the future.

I have the replacement slate for the mysteriously damaged table that no one would own up to. Repairs to the table will be completed tomorrow.
The old slate is cracked all the way through, is visible and can be felt on the top. It's a write-off.
Should be able to deliver the repaired table to the Surrey Open.

This table has a damaged leg thread.
Someone has tried to repair it in the past and cut an incorrect, slightly too fine, thread on the leg.
I can repair damaged threads but a wrong thread looks a bigger challenge.
Continual use will damage the socket on the table and that will be a bigger problem.
Has anyone got a spare octagonal leg for a table?
Alternatively has anyone got access to a big enough lathe to drill a 32mm post hole in the leg end and to turn a 32mm hardwood post to repair it. AEBBA would then need to buy a thread cutter (I know where).
I will make enquiries of a wood turning company down here but professionals don't come cheap
