Due to holidays the Olde House/Charles Dickens were struggling to get a team together for the final on Sep 13. The New Sussex very kindly agreed to bring the date forward a week so
the Nobby Clark final is now Thursday September 6th at the Henty.
The Henty were also happy with the new date as they had heard nothing of the original date. ;D

Excellent game at the Henty last night resulted in the Old House winning 3-2. Kt won against the break v Tony Burgess. Paul Barnett pulled it back to 2-2 with win against Stuart Mepham. Mark James put Old House 2-1 up with a win against Martin Cole. Great game between Ian Lelliott and Graham Lewis saw Ian level the scores.
Gary Ridley opened with the best break of the night just shy of 7000, and Kev Hall off early resulting in 3-2 win to the Old House, a very enjoyable evening and thanks to the Henty for the sandwiches and chips.
Will this be the last time we see the Old house name on a trophy???

Well done to the Old House last night, entertaining match. Games 2, 3 & 4 could have gone either way. Gary`s 6k+ in the decider was a real killer, best bk of the night. Tough ask for Chunkey to come back from that. Thanks to TJ for presenting the trophies and to the Henty for the food spread.
Sir KT 7780 v 1050 Tony B. Nipper 4230 v 5310 Mark J. Chocie 3650 v 5520 Barney Ian 5780 v 5160 Graham L. Chunkey 0 v 7220 Gary R.

Good game. Good game.
Nice to see Neil (and Lyn (on her birthday)) Higgins there.
Thanks again to the New Sussex for changing the date at our request.
We felt reasonably secure after Gary's break in the decider even though Kev had just about enough time to come back. The break wasn't going down quickly and the split was tricky.
Thanks from the Charles Dickens/Olde House to the Henty for the food.

Yes forgot to mention Neil and Lyn, and what a pleasure to see them, understand Neil not so good at beginning of the week but looked pretty good last night, and vocal in the support of his team.

Nobby Clark Plate Final
Match played at the Atlas
Swan A 2 Duke of Wellington 3
Dave France 0 - 23,790* Nigel Senior John Hayward 5,550* - 7,870 Dave Ingram Vern Blake 2,700 - 8,510* Mal Spier Chris Scott 6,770* - 1,200 John Perrin Terry Denyer 9,040 - 4,090 Chris Tupper
A tremendous opening break by Nigel of 23,740 set much too high a standard for us all to follow on an enjoyable evening with chances for everybody else.... apart from Dave F of course. ;D
Many thanks to the Atlas for their hospitality, Mario for giving us a great table to play the match on and Ian Lelliott for presenting the trophies on behalf of the League. 8-)

Sacre bleu ! Nigel didn't have the best of days on Sunday by his own high standards, but he certainly bounced back here with a vengeance ! :o :o

Cheers Tommo, it was nice to have a good game after my mare on Sunday. Annoyingly though I did have a minute and a half left and I was on for a personal best, maybe approaching 26k..........
