Hello there all,
Been away for a while, first time ive logged on to this board for a couple of months and I guess im kinda out of the loop with the whole bar billiards scene now. How is everyone? Any big news I should know about.
I'm back home now for the summer, so have been on the old fish table quite a bit trying to get my game back up to scratch.
Cheers All
H

Hi Henry, You ask what's new ? - and I can never resist a challenge, so here goes.....
1. Our leader the Chubbster has departed - wishes to pursue his dreams while still young enough to do so. The Forum is now run by "The Junta" - a triumvirate of Sav, Nigel and Sparky.
2. The ever-hardworking Sav, in between trying to bring out an official publication of All-England Rules (- booklet imminent ?) has smartened up the AEBBA website - you can now see up-to-date rankings at a glance, as well as full transcripts of recent Opens; download entry forms and view Hall of Fame. Impovements are ongoing.
3. Rather sadly, Fazza has ceased publication of the quarterly BBQ - issue 64 being the last. Rankings are being maintained using his system and including his most recent modification recommendations. His influence lives on in the role of providing formats for Opens when called upon to do so. Nigel of course runs the National tournaments - very competently - but is adamant this is his last year in the job. We shall see. ;)
4. Our own county website is being kept fully up-to-date, and accounts of the recent Sussex Masters and Sussex Open weekend are available for all to see. Other leagues within the county - Lewes included - are also developing their own websites, all with links back and forth to the SCBBA one and to this Forum.
5. A couple of regulars have moved on, who will be missed but have promised to stay in touch nonetheless: Q has 'emigrated' to Cornwall, and KP has gone almost to the Welsh borders, to the Forest of Dean.
6. One player is completely dominant in our game - Kevin Tunstall. The current holder of the Kent, Bucks, Berks and Sussex Open titles, he also won the All-England Singles, the Grand Prix and capped it all with the World Championship. He has just been voted Oxfordshire's third all-time sportsman, behind Sir Roger Bannister, but ahead of Sir Matthew Pinsett !
7. Finally, for the clever clogs there is a plethora of Quizzes to hopefully suit all tastes. Check out the "Quiz-mania" thread. Genius is not limited just to this country - Jersey and Guernsey are both represented amongst the Top Ten quiz participants. 8-)
