The final between Kennington Club & Horse & Harrow will take place at the Lamb & Flag Hailey on Wednesday 10th October. Venue Confirmed. If teams can make a 8.15 start this will give time for supper & presentations. Best of luck to both teams. Cheers Pete

Last night Kennington SC beat the Horse & Harrow 3-2 in a thrilling final to progress through to the National Finals as Oxfordshire's representatives.
The table was playable but got much harder as the night went on with many break shots missed due to the white ball coming inside the right hand 50 pocket.
Ian Gordon beat Dennis Atkins (both struggled with the table) Kevin Godfrey lost to Pete Burton (again both players had their chances) Pauline Withey beat Pete Lee (great game by Pauline who scored over 5,000 with only one break shot got 8-)) Steven Sheard lost to Pete Welch (excellent 5,000 opener by Pete gave Steven only one chance) Mark Trafford beat Paul Lawson (Mark held his nerve well to take the decider with some power left hand side break shots)
Great night played in a friendly atmosphere and a nice pint of John Smiths :-*.

Indeed, well done to Kennington who will surely go on and win it now ;D
I must apologise for the table on the night. I think nerves accounted for the poor scores in the early games (!) but the break certainly deteriorated as the night went on. We only recovered and recushioned it on Sunday and it was a bit of an unknown quantity as to how it would behave over a full night. Every other game we have played on there had us thinking that the table was TOO easy!!
It made for some interesting games but it would have been good to see some higher scores - I think only one went over 10K or have I got that wrong?
cheers Tony
PS glad you enjoyed the John Smiths smooth, Keith - you really ought to try some proper beer! ;D
