An excellent evening at the Imperial, a very good table, great banter, competitive games, capped off with a superb corned beef hash.
Tunbridge Wells 4 Worthing C 3. The result turning on me being the only one to loose with the break. Well played Tun Wells.

Lewes 4 Brighton C 3
Even though we had to endure the constant barracking from a certain Mr Pope Lewes ran out winners.

Brighton B 4 Eastbourne 3.
What can I say. 3-3 and Gary Sweeney 2k up in the decider with two minutes to go and then............
Over went that Black Peg to hand Brighton B victory.

Worthing B 5-2 Brighton A
Worthing B now set themselves up as favourites with big win against Brighton A
Game 1 - Scrappy game between Phil Oakley and Dave Reeves. Phil Oakley's 2k opener being enough really as try as might Dave could not get the balls back. 1-0
Game 2 - Richard Wooton got a kick on about 2k and Brian Richards responded with an excellent 6k. Richard managed to take his one last chance to win the game and level the match.
Game 3 - I made a good start against Bill Kerr, and after I reached 7k I looked at my watch which had just hit 6 minutes and I thought I would go for it and got to 13k in 11min looking on for 25k. However don't go down the back end of the Swan you rarely get anything go for you as Dave Reeves will tell you. I came off but did manage to get to 20k by the end. 1-2
Game 4 - Glenn Chubb had his chances but didnlt capitilise and Nick Brown levelled the match at 2-2
Game 5 - Gareth Lloyd never settled and Gary ridley took a crucial one against the break 3-2
Game 6 - Tupps needed to win to keep Brighton in it, but lost his opener. The game became very scrappy but Doug Mahy won it for Worthing. 4-2
Game 7 - With the points in the bag Dave france thought he would go for his first 20k against Chris Reeves, he reached 16k with around 5 mins left but hit a split thick leaving both balls up, but this made the final score 5-2.
Well done Worthing B, we await Worthing A's result to give us an idea of what is required in our final 2 matches. unlucky Dave France, a great effort to get the 20k.

Worthing B 5-2 Brighton A Commiserations to Brighton, who would have predicted that result at 2-1 up to you ? Well done on your 20k Nigel - and also to Dave France on his break of 16k. Anyway, further evidence - as if none were needed - that a place should be found eventually for Worthing B in the One-day Interleague top section: not straightaway of course as they did not take part in the B competition this year. But some sort of door should be opened to them. Could be a lively AGM this year !

I ought to brush up on my JT quotations as they could come in useful ;D ;D You'd be better advised not to go there. ;) I've never met anyone with a more comprehensive vocabulary of four-lettered words of Anglo-Saxon origin. ;D

Horsham bt Worthing A 4-3 last night making it a bit tougher for Littlehampton to stay up this year. Doesn`t help Worthing A either with a match against Brighton A coming up as well.

Redhill A aren't being helped either, with a backlog of fixtures. Redhill A v Horsham from Series 7 and Redhill A v Littlehampton from Series 8 have been deferred - in each case at the request of the away team.
These will be re-arranged a.s.a.p. but it is a very busy time of year and available Sundays are at a premium.

Redhill A engineered a home win against Littlehampton, which appears to have condemned the team which contains the World Champion to Div 2 next year. The home side made full use of their three 'bankers' who all won with the break with five-figure scores, and the excellent Gary Powell managed to snatch the one frame they needed against. Breaks of 10k were managed by Geoff Jukes (10370) for the home side, and the World Champ (10140) for the visitors.
Redhill A 4, Littlehampton 3 (at the Old Oak, Meadvale, 1/4/07)
Geoff Jukes 10,630, Paul Olver 1480 Paul Reece 1330, Barry Holt 8830 tommo 280, Sir KT 15,320 Dave Constable 15,270, Lord Cheeky 0 Gary Powell 7290, Dave Hampton 4520 Jason Wadsworth 770, Steve Hawkes 6710 Terry Oakley 10,130, Ian Lelliott 390

Brighton B`s win certainly makes for a great climax to Div 2, well done, and to re-iterate Doug`s comments on the table, excellent top.
