I have just heard that Horsham have pulled out of this year's inter league competition.
Speaking to John Slee this morning he regrets having to pull the team out but has no option as he struggles to get a side and believes it is fairer to pull out rather than some matches having 7 players and others 5.
This decision only refers to the home and away interleague season and they will still enter the one day competition.

This is a great shame, but believe John has made the right decision as the imbalance and uncertainty of numbers turning out could give ahugh advantage/ disadvantage to the teams affected.
Hopefully this can be addressed by next season as this is quite a demise in the representation from the Horsham league, not being able to band together even one team.

Most regrettable. I just hope that John has discussed it with others - particularly officials of the League - rather than taking the decision off his own bat. Whilst in Jersey, Geoff Jukes prompted me to tackle four members of Horsham who were standing there together (Cable, Fairs, Coomber and Miller) to get their angle on it and find out what was happening. The consensus was that Johnny Miller was willing to take over the running of it and was confident of getting a side together.
Maybe it was just the drink talking, but they sounded pretty convincing to me. ;)
Oh well, saves poor tommo having another 20k put past him against the break - this time by Micky Fairs at Roffey. Every cloud has a silver lining. ::)
