Clash of the top two last night at the Marquis saw Worthing `A` beat Brighton `A` 4 - 3.
Neil Higgins 8,190 v BB Reaper 740 - Neil opened with just under 6k. Kev didn`t have any joy up the top of the table and it was Neil who added a couple more to take the first point. 1 - 0
Martin Smith 2,860 v Nigel Senior 10,150 - Nige kicked off with a solid 10k and would have had a much larger total had he not pegged his second break. Martin scored a few at the end. 1 - 1
Sir Kt 9,280 v Gareth Lloyd 8,620 - Without doubt, the game of the night. Gareth opened with a steady 8,620 in ten and a half minutes. I got them straight back and attempted to catch him. With the red ball going so clean every time on the break and several times on the split, I managed to play at speed and overhaul Gareth`s total, finishing with 9,280. 2 - 1
Barry Holt 12,560 v Dave Reeves 120 - Barry, trying to consolidate our advantage, came off just under 3k, giving Dave a chance. He was unable to clear the balls and Barry made sure with his next break. He added more near the end. 3 - 1
Ian Lelliott 4,770 v Richard Wooton 1,470 - Richard was off soon after passing 1k. Ian couldn`t clear the table and Richard was able to build another break of about 5k, which he lost when a 100 split whipped out through the peg. This time Ian did retrieve the break and made enough for the win. 4 - 1
Tony Lewis 1,100 v Chris Reeves 6,310 - It didn`t look like either player wanted this one as first Chris (5k) and then Tony (2k), both had pegs. Chris got them back but missed a one-up and then Tony seemed to be going well but left a one-up short. Chris made sure on his next visit. 4 - 2
Roger Taylor 2,810 v Tupps 10,670 - Roger was off on 1,300 and Tupps made two breaks for his score. 4 - 3
Great result for us to go top on our own. Excellent curry, rice & poppadums to follow ;D

Good evening at the Schooner with the table certainly playing well as proved by a strong Horsham side albeit they had to turn up with only 6 as let down on the evening. Worthing C 3 Horsham 4
Gina Sherratt on the break went off with 2k, Dick Cable unable to get the break back, Gina built a further 1k lead. Dick got break back with 4minutes left and played out the table. 3410 - 5280 0-1.
Lee Cable went off with only 800, Adam Squire unable to retrieve break. Lee did and made sure. 1010-11150 0-2.
Steve King opened with just under 2k, Tony Jenner got balls back and going well at 3k when played awful shot, pleased to come off with lead of 1k. Neither player could retrieve the break, as bar went Steve had closed within 500, then fluked 100, but came off next shot. TJ sunk couple of balls to make sure and sigh of relief. 3710-3380 1-2.
Steve Aylmore started well but got out of position and came off with around 1500, John Miller got the balls back, off at 2k. Steve then built a 5k break to make sure. 7260-2530 2-2.
John Slee showing he retains his skills opened with a faultless 8.5k despite some friendly barracking. Dave Jones never able to get into the game. 460-9680 2-3.
Still a chance for the home side knowing they had a walkover in the last . Rick cunningham knew he was on a hiding to nothing after the first couple of minutes of Vern Sparks opening break showed a few occasions of needinng to see if he had stood in anything on the way in. Once through riding his luck though Vern settled down to build a winning break and a captains innings, 1690-9680 2-4.
Walk over for Eric Butler in the last for Worthing gave result of 3-4.
