Well done to Tunny Wells and commiserations to West Sussex, runners-up by just that one elusive point.
Still, hope everyone enjoyed their day, in spite of what looked to me like - at times - some rather awkward tables.

Mid Sussex ended up 3rd well done to all who played. Special thanks to Jean Alan & Graham who had the whole thing running ahead of schedule. :D :D Well done to Rick Bithall for a 100 % record. Ian.

Congratulations to Tunbridge Wells on their regal victory, deserved winners although West Sussex pushed them very close!
A good venue, excellently run by Jean & Alan who kept everything moving along brilliantly on the day. Thanks should also be given to Sparky (& anyone else) involved with setting the tables up, some of which seemed to be more challenging than others! ;D
Well done also to Ric Bithell of Lewes who had the only 100% record on the day.

I just wanted to add my thanks to the organisers for a really well run competition.
Also, it was great to play against my old (old!) league, West Sussex, in the final set of games. We went into the series neck and neck, with everything to play for; what a great climax to an excellent day's billiards. I hope we manage to stay up, and that you will be joining us next year in Div. 1!
Martin.

Personal highlight was, for me, a bit of a blast from the past too;
Mr Mouncher; sailing merrily along, mildly under the influence of the dark stuff - and scoring the first of the Tunny W Sussex games for a slightly reluctant Mr Leach and Mr Charlton! ::)
A game neither appeared keen to win ;D
my first such day for a number of years and, even as an onlooker I found myself getting all excited by it all - so much so that I scored a couple!
Excellent venue in terms of space; ideal for all those on a starvation diet too! ;) and superbly marshalled from the stage.

A slightly reluctant Mr Leach and Mr Charlton! ::) A game neither appeared keen to win ;D I don't think we were reluctant Steve (it is Steve isn't it?). I think it had more to do with the strength of the Hobgoblin!

It is Steve, yes! Visiting the fairfield in Emsworth during me formative years; trying to avoid the almost invincible pairing of Freeman & Leach in the mens doubles, jumpers for goalposts? Marvellous!
So the numbers on the board were correct then! ;-) And there I was assuming that Mr M had lopped off a few k here & there ;D
It was something else I noticed though - there was as much enthusiasm at the range of beers on offer as there was in actually winning things.
Possibly due to the enormity of the task facing whichever league moved up next season, but an vital part of any tournament in my view. 8-)

Has "The Muncher" ever scored a game correctly? I seem to remember him calling foul for a missed ball on Mr Freeman when the object ball in question moved about a foot - "Well I didn't see it" - "No Keith, I'm not sure you can see anything in your current state!"
Next time we meet we'll have to have a good long chat about Prog - I've only just found out that you are a guitarist (and a damn good one I'm told!)

Am flattered! You can decide for yourself to a point by having a gander at www.myspace.com/protosmusic and we as a band are lucky enough to have had some nice reviews recently from Japan and Europe - though the UK appears to be ignorant of prog at present! We have been compared to bands like Camel, Wishbone Ash, Floyd - though with no words. No words at all! You migh be pleased to know that Mr Freeman has mellowed down the years, though I am sure you are in touch with him? An incident such as the one you describe would, these days, probably warrant just a wry smile, or glare at the scorer and not much more. ;D ;)

I realise we're getting off topic now, but just had to say that the links are good, Steve. You'll have to bring along a couple of CDs to the next tournament - there are plenty of prog fans here!
