Horsham 5 Mid-Sussex A 2
Lee Cable 4,260* - 3,170 Andy Farmer-Wright Steve King 4,400 - 7,990* Richard Jeffrey Mick Fairs 16,530 - 0* Derek Taylor Peter Gibbs 7,990* - 3,470 Lorraine Hall Dick Cable 7,110 - 1,930* Henry Brooks John Slee 2,860 - 9,460* Dave Ingram John Miller 8,350* - 2,250 Peter Edwards
Well deserved win for Horsham on a good table, highlight being Micky playing the table out for 16,530 after Derek had unfortunately put his opening break down 4 times..... :o ::)
Enjoyable evening, plenty of banter from the home boys - especially for their own players! 8-)

The table wasn't playing its usuall self and players were struggling to get to grips with the break but it didn't stop Nige hitting another 20k Break on it! Well Done Buddy 8-)

I suppose it had to happen eventually, our unbeaten run came to an end in Redhill last night :( Another close match between these two teams, but at one point that didn`t look the case.
Geoff Jukes 12,040 v Tony Lewis 750 - Mr reliable as usual opened with enough against Stadium teammate Tony. 1 - 0
Tommo 7,110 v Barry Holt 6,290 - This turned out to be the pivotal match for both teams. Barry opened with about 5k and retrieved the break soon after, but only making another 1k. Tommo then set about the chase and put his nose in front just before the bar dropped. Well done Clive ;) 2 - 0
Gary Powell 8,780 v Ian Lelliott 3,330 - Ian only managed about 3k in his break and Gary played a steady game to take the point. 3 - 0
At this point, things were looking bleak :-X :-/
Colin Robbins 3,250 v Sir Kt 13,480 - Not sure what Colin missed at the start, but he let me in early. I made 10k and added another 3 for good measure to hopefully start our comeback. Colin added a couple at the end. 3 - 1
Laurie Roberts 150 v Roger Taylor 15,680 - Roger played like a man posessed (I haven`t scored that many for a while), opening with 7k and adding another 8k on his second visit. 3 - 2
DC 970 v Martin Smith 9,090 - Martin kicked off with enough to take us into a decider. 3 - 3
Just a shame for us that it was their break ;D
Terry Oakley 8,220 v Neil Higgins 2,340 - Terry opened with a steady 6,850, leaving Neil about 8 minutes to catch him. Unfortunately, he didn`t retrieve the balls, so hereith ended the chase. 4 - 3
Great match for the neutrals. Brighton now go top on goal difference, but it was always going to come down to the last match when we play them at the Romans in two weeks. Book your seats early ;)

A great match indeed. And a pleasure playing such a sociable lot.
We were extremely surprised to find ourselves 3-0 up and Worthing did really well to bring it back to 3-all, K.T. courageously putting himself on against the break, against an in-form Colin Robbins. (The tactic worked, as Colin made 500 and missed his first 'split'.)
Great games from Roger and Martin, but Worthing had always left themselves too much to do.
The stage is now set for the 'Battle of the Giants' in a fortnight' s time. May the best team win. ;D

Another result that I heard last night......
Tunbridge Wells 0 Worthing B 7 :o
Which, according to my calculations, makes the latest League Tables as follows:-

Results from last night Mid Sussex B 6 Eastbourne 1 Paul Jobbbins 7030 Rob Jordan 940 John Lear 1390 Colin Southouse 5640 Adam Bateup 7740 Stuart Chant 3010 Trevor Rees 4520 Terry Cox 1460 Ros Appleby 4590 Lee Callcott 490 Darrell Skinner 8720 Roy Jenkins 1150 Rob Hall 5080 C Turner 2250
A great night for Mid Sussex B puts them right back in the fight. According to my fingers that puts Billingshurst, Brighton C, Mid Sussex B & Eastbourne all on played 7 won 4 with 8 points.
The Captain from Eastbourne is unaware of the ruling re outstanding matches & hasn't had any contact from Redhill B re the outstanding fixture & doesn't look at the Forum.
