Firstly let me say well done to Worthing A for winning, maybe we can stop you doing the double in the home and away ;)
Not taking anything away from the event - as it is one of the most enjoyable of the year, but I think it is time for a bit of a change. I would like to see the aggregate come into play, after all it is a best of 2 match and each player gets a break. Maybe along the lines of the international - 1 point per leg and 1 point per match aggregate. The table were fantastic on the day, and I would have liked the chance and also like to have seen others really go for it and try to make big breaks to go for aggregate wins. I would rather see attacking bar billiards, rather than a more defensive style where touching up on 8k or 9k was the order of the day. I don't like 1-1 draws - it seems daft when we have both had a break not to take aggregate into account. BTW this is not sour grapes for Worthing winning - they fully deserved to win - and would have if aggregates had counted.
Anyway thats food for thought for next year - speaking of food thanks Colin Robbins for the great food on offer. Also well done to Jean not only for yesterday but all 4 competitions she ran so brilliantly! And also I think Tarratts should be thanked for the tables they provided - they were great.

Firstly the Ladies on saturday and now the Men`s division 1 title, excellent :D Barry Holt also won 6/8, Roger Taylor & Dave France 4/8 & 5/8 and Tony Lewis with 3/8. Looking forward to next year already ;) Well done to Jean for all her hard work on the admin desk and to Colin Robbins for the food. The tables were very good, a big improvement on the set they sent for the Counties in January :-X

Just wanted to add the appreciation of the Tun Wells guys.
Well done to Worthing and Brighton. (we're pretty pleased with our 3rd place too - watch out next year!)
Excellent day, well organised, good food, great tables, and the "Old Thumper" went down a treat.

I would like to add the appreciation of the day on behalf of the Redhill team.
Well done to Jean on the admin desk, well done to Worthing on shifting the power away from Brighton this year - they will want it back next year which will make it all the more competitive !
In fact this is almost like having a Southern Counties again - no Hampshire I know, but teams from Kent and Surrey plus three from Sussex. Thanks for the continual invite.
Colin managed to do a good job on the food, combining with having to play as well - no-one had to go hungry on the day !
Finally, the tables supplied by Tarratts which had new slates - what a difference to those supplied earlier in the year for the Singles & Doubles ! Unlikely I know, but wouldn't it be great if these could be kept together as a 'championship set' ?
